It's a mission fit for only one man, Tom Cruise.
And now he's back with more action and death-defying stunts
in Mission Impossible, The Final Reckoning.
But, is it really goodbye?
Tom had his legion of fans cheering.
A mission very possible.
Stopping to pose and sign autographs for the gracious supporters
who came out for his final reckoning.
I need you to trust me.
One last time.
One person who wasn't there.
And this would have caused a flashbulb frenzy.
His rumored girlfriend and potential future co-star, Ana de Armas.
You are making projects with Ana, who you also showed love to.
Was amazing in Ballerina.
What's it like collaborating with her and showing each other support?
Yeah, listen. Very, very talented.
Great dramatic actress, comedic.
Tremendous ability.
Learns quickly.
You see the stuff that what Keanu...
I love Keanu's work.
Like, what he does with Wick is very impressive.
Very, I know what it takes to do that stuff.
So, I always call him, I'm like, hats off, man.
Hats off.
Tom also gave nods to a couple of his movie star pals.
I look forward to, like, you got Formula One coming out with Brad.
You know, and the guys, Joe, who directed Top Gun Maverick.
That's gonna be a great film this summer.
Tom recently hyped up another friend's film.
Sinners.
And Michael B. Jordan returned the favor at the MI8 London premiere.
You and Michael B. Jordan's friendship.
We're here for it. We love it.
Huge fan of his.
Huge fan of what he and Kugler do together.
Great film.
He's enormously talented.
Very charismatic.
Great actor.
I'd love to make a movie with him.
We choose to accept.
After 30 years, I have to ask, is it the final, final Reckoning?
Well, this is a culmination of the entire franchise.
I want audiences to see it, but it is called the final Reckoning.
Let's say that it is the final one.
Where do you get your adrenaline fits from?
Is it space? Is it speeding down the 405?
Making movies, it's such a privilege to do what I do.
I absolutely love it.
It's not what I do, it's who I am.
I love doing it.
Some of this stunts because we see you here on the side of the plane.
We see you underwater.
Is there ever a time where you're like, okay, I might have gone too far?
Always.
I always go too far.
But I don't mind it.
I fly aerobatic airplanes.
I fly jets.
I fly helicopters.
This took all of our ability and all of our skill.
Physically, what I had to do to prepare for this thing was quite extreme.
You guys see him hanging off the side of the wing of the plane.
You see it in real time.
Is there a little bit of an anxious feeling that you guys feel for him?
Little.
It's just outright terror.
There's always a sense that something could go wrong.
And it speaks volumes that Tom is prepared to take those risks for his audience.
Tom has been making the Mission Impossible movies with Simon Pegg for over 20 years.
A lot of fans saying that this may be the end.
If it was, I mean, what was it like to leave set?
Was it bittersweet?
It was.
I made a little speech to the crew and it was emotional.
I started to well up.
You know, I'm British.
I don't cry.
There was also a great sense of achievement and kind of, you know,
that we pulled something off that felt impossible.
And Angela Bassett is back as the president.
Tom said that they really wanted you back for this one.
You're back.
Oh, it was a dream of a lifetime.
It meant so much.
It just blessed my heart so much.
This can't all be true.
Don't miss Tom's final reckoning in theaters Friday.
