안녕하세요 반갑습니다 제니입니다.
Hello everyone, welcome to Jenny's class.
제니의 아홉 번째 수업에 오신 여러분을 환영합니다.
Welcome to Jenny's 9th class.
아홉 번째입니다.
아홉 번째.
번쨰 is just counting units.
아홉 is what native Korean numbering system which indicates nine in English.
Okay, today's topic is appointments and future plan.
To make an appointment, we have to know dates and day of a week.
So firstly, take a look at months in Korean.
Okay, here 일월, 이월, 삼월, 사월, 오월, 유월.
Okay, in English, January, February, March, April,
May, and June.
So in English, names of months are all different.
However, when we indicate months in Korean, we use Sino-Korean numbering system.
As you know, in Korean, there are two kinds of numbering system.
It's Sino-Korean, in other words, a Chinese-Korean numbering system
and native Korean numbering system.
When we indicate months, we use Sino-Korean numbering system.
Like, 일, 이, 삼, 사, 오, 유.
So, it's easier than English.
Because in English, names of months are all different.
Like, January, February, March, April, and like this.
Okay, we put 월, it indicates months after Sino-Korean numbers.
일월, it indicates January.
이월, 삼월, 사월, 오월, 유월.
Actually, its name, when we read six in Sino-Korean numbering system, 유.
However, when we put 월 after this six,
육 changes to, it changes to 유.
So, you have to be careful.
유월, it's not 육월.
Okay, and what, could you read it?
July, 칠월, and 팔월, 팔월.
Okay, then 구월, 구월.
And then, could you read this in Sino-Korean numbering system?
Actually, it's 십.
However, 월 is attached after this number.
십 changes to 시.
So, you have to be careful when you indicate 시월.
It's not 십월, it's 시월.
Then, 십일월, 십이월.
Again, 일월, 일월, 이월, 이월, 삼월, 삼월, 사월, 사월, 오월, 오월, 유월,
유월, 칠월, 칠월, 팔월, 팔월, 구월, 구월, 시월, 시월, 십일월, 십일월, 십이월, 십이월.
Okay, next.
And, when we indicate dates of a day, we put 일 after Sino-Korean numbers.
We use Sino-Korean numbers.
Its form doesn't change.
Just 육일.
However, when we indicate month, it's what?
유월.
자, 일일, 이일, 삼일, 사일, 오일, 육일, 칠일, 팔일, 구일, 십일, and then, 이십일, 삼십일.
Most of months are composed of 30 days, right?
Okay, again.
일일, 이일, 삼일, 사일, 오일, 육일, 칠일, 팔일, 구일, 십일, what about this?
십일일.
What about this?
십이일.
And, 이십일.
What about this?
이십오일.
Then, 삼십일.
Or, sometimes, there is 삼십일일.
So, if you know the Sino-Korean numbering system, you can refer to, you can speak to dates and month.
Okay.
So, what is expression of what date is it today?
What date is it today?
오늘은, 오늘은, 오늘은, 몇월, 몇월, 며칠입니까?
Or, 며칠이에요?
This is the expression of what date is it today, okay?
Could you repeat to me?
오늘은, 몇월, 며칠입니까?
오늘 is today, 몇월 is, it indicates month, 며칠 is dates, dates.
입니까, 이에요, is.
So, you have to memorize this expression.
Sometimes, it's better to memorize whole chunk of pattern.
Instead, analyze all the grammatical factor.
Just memorize whole chunk of expression.
오늘은, 몇월, 며칠입니까?
Instead of 오늘, you can put 내일.
내일 is what? Tomorrow.
Tomorrow, no.
So, you can say, 내일은 몇월 며칠입니까?
Or, 내일은 몇월 며칠이에요?
오늘은, 몇월, 며칠입니까?
오늘은, what? February 6th in English.
So, how can you say in Korean?
Just put 월 after month.
Just put 일 after dates, day.
So, you can say, 1, 2, 2월, 6일입니다.
What if this?
It's what? 6월, 5일입니다.
Can you answer the question, what date is it today in Korean?
오늘은, 며칠입니까?
Here, there is example here.
몇월, 며칠입니까?
Just you can put here, 오늘은, today.
오늘은, 몇월, 며칠입니까?
Or, tomorrow.
내일은, 몇월, 며칠입니까?
What date is it?
4월, 24일입니다.
So, what? 1, 2, 3, 4.
4월, 24일입니다.
So, there is also 요 form.
몇월, 며칠이에요?
Instead of 몇월, 며칠입니까?
You can say, 몇월, 며칠이에요?
More familiar expression.
오늘은, 몇월, 며칠이에요?
What date is it today?
4월, 24일입니다.
Or, 24일이에요.
Also, you can put 오늘.
오늘은, 4월, 24일이에요.
Okay, next.
몇월, 며칠입니까?
What date is it?
You can put here, 생일.
That means, birthday in English.
생일, birthday입니다.
So, you can say, 생일은 몇월, 며칠입니까?
몇월, 며칠이에요?
When is your birthday?
생일은 몇월, 며칠입니까?
When is your birthday?
제 생일은, 제니의 생일은, actually, 7월 2일입니다.
7월, you put sign a Korean number.
7월 2일입니다.
Or, just 2예요.
생일은 몇월, 며칠이에요?
Or, 생일은 언제예요?
When is your birthday?
You can answer, 7월 2일이에요.
7월 2일입니다.
몇월, 며칠입니까?
Here, 어머니 생신.
생신 is synonym of 생일.
생신 is honorific expression of 생일.
My mother's, my mom's birthday.
So, you can say, 어머니 생신, 몇월, 며칠입니까?
어머니 생신, 몇월, 며칠입니까?
When is your mother's birthday?
So, the better expression is, 생신, instead of 생일.
Just use 생신, when you refer elders, elder person's birthday.
어머니 생신, 몇월, 며칠이에요?
어머니 생신, 몇월, 며칠입니까?
Actually, my mother's birthday is 9월 16일입니다.
So, you can say, put 어머니 생신.
어머니 생신은 9월 16일이에요.
Or, you can say, 아버지, your father.
아버지 생신은 9월 16일이에요.
Could you read this answer first?
12월 25일입니다.
What is 12월 25일?

In English, Christmas.
In Korean, it's also 크리스마스.
