This is a pretty standard takeoff from Wilmington, NC off to do a training sortie over the water. Initially I get lined up on my half of the runway since lead is further up the runway on his side. Then I run the engine up to 60 percent RPM and to check that everything else is in parameters. Once the appropriate timing has been met from the lead aircrafts takeoff I will add full power. Once at a precalculated airspeed I will adjust the nozzles on the jet to 60 degrees down to assist the jet lifting off the runway. Once the jet is airborne the nozzles are adjusted again to assist with acceleration and the gear and flaps are raised. As the jet accelerates the nozzles are slowly adjusted to full aft.
