g'day mates from down under!!!! hahaha. this is me trying to drive again after being out of the country for 2.5 years. sorry it was a short video by the way! more videos coming soon :) xxx
Hey everyone, welcome back to my channel.
Welcome back to my channel!
We're in Australia right now, mate.
Yeah, mate, we're in Australia right now.
I'll actually, I'll show you the view.
Here, I'll get it. I'll be your cameraman, babe.
I'm following you around.
I'm in Noosa, in Queensland.
This is the view, it's very beautiful.
We've been here for the week and it's been so nice, the weather.
It's winter in Australia right now, but it literally doesn't feel like it.
Anyway, just wanted to intro this video because
it was probably within the first couple days that we got to Australia
that we filmed these driving videos and when I-
It's been a while since then.
Yeah.
This is like week three, I think, of us being here.
About two weeks of editing and a complete YouTube series later.
I was editing it last night and I was like,
wow, this is really short.
So, I just wanted to come on here and intro the video and say,
sorry that it's a short one.
Hope you enjoy it anyway, but what are you doing?
We're gonna be filming more now that this series is over.
We're gonna be filming more vlogs and I'll be filming more videos for my channel.
So, just wanted to come on here and say hi.
Love you guys.
Hope you enjoy this video and I'll see you next time.
Oh my God.
Hey everyone.
Hello.
Welcome to my channel.
Welcome to this video.
This is exciting.
This is the very-
You have to introduce me.
Sorry.
For those of you who don't know,
my name is Jess and this is my husband, Gabriel Conte.
This is the first video that we're filming in Australia, kind of.
Definitely the first video like I'm filming for my channel in Australia.
I didn't know we're in Australia.
It's really exciting.
And basically, we haven't been to Australia in two and a half years.
You got very used to driving on the right side of the road.
I did.
It took me a little bit-
On the left side of the car.
Over here, it's this side and the left side of the road.
So, it's going to be very different, but I think I'll be fine.
You'll be driving around then all of a sudden, it's gonna snap and it's gonna click and you're gonna be like,
Oh, I'm good.
Because this is the way you learned.
I know.
This is the way I learned.
Our tripod can't fit up there.
This might slide around.
Okay.
Should I just go?
Yeah, just do it.
You're on a hill.
And Jess loves hills, obviously.
Okay.
Sorry, just always on the left.
I just need to be on the left.
That's why you just repeat in your head, stay left, stay left.
Okay, I don't want the camera to fall.
It's gonna fall.
Oh my gosh!
Bobby, that's not gonna happen in this video.
I know.
I had to do it before you left the driveway, babe.
I had to do it once.
Oh my gosh.
I won't do it, I promise.
Oh, you guys.
We're good.
The camera's staying, surprisingly.
Oh, I'm officially on the road!
Okay.
Whoa!
Rear views, check.
Oh, this is weird.
Okay, we're going up a hill so the camera might fall over.
Alright, don't hit the curb.
Oh, you hit the curb.
Did I?
Yeah.
Whoa, there's a car!
Oh, there's a car!
That's so weird.
A car's on the road, babe.
You're getting really close to these cars.
Am I?
Yeah.
That's what happens.
You, like, overcompensate one way
because you're used to driving the other way, you know?
Okay, let me just get used to it.
Guys, don't worry.
I'm a good driver.
Okay, turn left.
Sorry.
Jess is...
Oh.
She just used the windshield wipers.
Also, no idea where I'm going.
No idea this area of town.
Well, we haven't been here in two and a half years.
That's nice of you.
Talk about your face.
He wasn't.
Oh, my first roundabout.
Oh, roundabout?
The first one, mate.
We're gonna go straight through.
Right over there to the bush.
Okay, to be honest, that was a pretty good accent.
Am I going really slow?
But I feel like in this neighborhood it's fine
because it's like a little suburb.
Yeah, this is weird
because normally in this seat I'm driving
and I can look in this rear view mirror
and I see the road and traffic.
And now I look in the rear view mirror
and I'm like, why do I see the side of the car?
Okay, now what you're gonna do
is you're gonna go round the roundabout one whole time
and then pop out that way.
What?
Just to get a good, nice, even turn.
Go all the way around
just to learn the bearings of the car
and how to turn properly.
Very well done.
Hillary doesn't know the car.
I should be a driving coach.
Right after we're done filming this one,
we're filming for the vlog channel,
me driving.
I'm nervous.
Oh, I'm getting nervous.
I'm nervous too.
I have no idea where I am.
I'm so nervous.
Are you alright?
Yeah, I'm good.
You're good, now you can go through
because no one's going right.
Stay well.
Why don't you tell them
what you're excited to do in Australia?
What I'm excited to do
is one, Australia Zoo.
Bars.
We haven't gone to Australia Zoo
I think since the very first vlog we ever did
which was on my channel.
That was literally three years ago like right now.
I'm excited to...
I'm excited to travel around.
I'm excited to go to Melbourne
because I've never been there
and I hear the coffee's lit there.
To go to Sydney.
Jacko's going to be there.
So...
You know, I'm really excited to see a beach.
Like an Aussie beach.
What are you excited to do in Australia?
Okay, I've been eating Australian chocolate
which is like my favorite.
I don't know, there's a couple like video ideas
that we want to do
like get him to try more Australian snacks.
Everything.
I'm like a little baby.
Like, not a baby.
Like a little child.
Baby.
We want to visit...
We want to visit where we got married.
That is going to come up.
That's going to be a good vlog.
I'm just happy to be here, you know.
It's also really cute to see kids in school uniform.
We see it sometimes in America
but like here everyone wears school uniforms.
Yeah, like public school kids wear school uniforms.
You have the green.
Okay, yeah, use your windshield wipers.
Orange light.
She got the yellow.
Or orange.
Here in Australia, it's considered orange.
I don't know.
I think it's both actually.
I think in America, it's yellow.
I'm pretty sure.
Not the actual color.
Just like what people say.
Let us know guys.
Is it orange light or yellow light?
I think I've done pretty well.
You have.
How am I doing on like my left hand side?
You're good.
After that first...
Am I like used to it now?
Little incident where you hit the curb
and then almost hit the car.
I didn't almost hit the car.
Okay, I'm going to turn.
Oh, yep.
Use your windshield wipers.
Oh my gosh.
I keep doing that.
I'm impressed.
I think I'll be okay.
I think you will.
For the next couple weeks of us being here,
I think I'll really get like back into it.
Literally every time I go to turn...
Dude, it's pouring outside.
Okay, that's my like biggest error.
Yeah?
If you were a driving instructor,
would I have passed?
Depends if the windshield wiper situation
would be an automatic fail or not.
Keep driving, babe.
Get up this hill.
Lots of climbs.
I don't know.
Good job.
Alright guys.
Well, that is enough for this episode of...
Can you drive in Australia?
And I think the answer is...
A little bit.
If I'm not turning,
then I can't.
Thanks for watching guys.
Really excited about all of the Australia content
that we're doing.
Gonna be fun.
It's now Gabe's turn.
Yes.
Good job.
Alright.
Thank you guys for watching.
Have a great rest of your week.
And I'll see you next time.
Bye.
