Ed Sheeran – Supermarket Flowers [Live from the BRITs 2018]
Supermarket Flowers is taken from the studio album ÷ (divide) released in 2017, which featured the hit singles 'Castle on the Hill', 'Shape of You', 'Galway Girl', ‘Perfect’ & 'Happier'.
Took the supermarket flowers from the windowsill
Through the day your teeth
Packed up the photo albums Matthew had made
memories of a life
I took the Gilwell's in cars and stuff
I pulled the old ginger beer
Dad always told me don't you cry when you're down, but mom, there's a tear every time
But I know a heart that's broke is the heart that's been loved so I'll sing
You were an angel in the shape of my mom
When I fell down, you'd be there holding me up spread your wings
God takes you back
Fluff the pillows made the bed stack the chairs
Folded your nightgowns neatly in case
John said he'd drive and put his hand on my cheek. I wiped a tear from the side
Now did I see the world as you did cuz I know a life with love is a life
That's been there
So
You were an angel in the shape of my mom
When I fell down, you'd be there holding me up spread your wings
God takes you back
Hallelujah
You were an angel in the shape of my mom
And you got to see the person I am become spread your wings
God took you back
