It's game two of the three game set between the A's and the Dodgers always pop in here
no matter the day of the week but out in its Star Wars night and it's Yoshinobu Yamamoto's
second in the National League with a 180 ERA coming off probably his worst outing so far
this season just five innings Jacob Wilson first visiting rookie in MLB history to have
four hits and two of those hits being home runs at Dodger Stadium.
He has grounded his short Mookie Betts is there and he gets a shortstop counterpart
to get this game rolling and that'll bring up Soderstrom he drew the collar last night
he was 0 for five it's a splitter to a Rooker two hits yesterday although he did strike
out three times fastball speeds by him strike three two strikeouts in the inning the 25
year old from Florida Gunnar Hoagland makes his third career start and he's off to a really
good start in his big league career.
Ohtani ready to lead off for this Dodger lineup.
Last night Ohtani Betts and Freeman all went 0-4 that's only happened in one other game
all season.
Ohtani 0-3 with a walk last night and he's batting 3-0-2 with a dozen home runs and twenty
one RBI's.
There's a high drive to right field forget about it Ohtani with a lead off shot.
Ohtani with his 13th home run of the year that didn't take very long three pitches into
the game and the Dodgers have a 1-0 lead.
Star Wars night blasts off to lead off this is why he is just so so dangerous.
And now the 0-1 and Betts hits a ground ball to short backhand good play by Wilson plants
and throws in time for the out good job by Jacob that'll bring up Freddie Freeman 0-3
with a walk last night.
And strike three Freddie Freeman takes the pitch changeup gets him and first strikeout
for home run.
Will hitting 330 plus and he's hitting 370 here at Dodger Stadium.
That's a two out walk and Will Smith improves on that on base percentage.
That'll bring up the left handed hitter in Max Muncy.
High fly ball out to left field and the catch up for Tyler Soderstrom will end the first
first base runner of the game for the A's.
Leads off this second Lawrence Butler swings and misses and he's the third strikeout victim
of Yamamoto's already comes home he runs a swing and a miss a throw down from Smith not
in time and a stolen base but another strikeout for Yamamoto who he has already matched his
swing and miss total from his entire start last week swings hits a little tapper up the
first base side easy play for Freddie Freeman he'll step on the bag three and assisted Andy
Pajas leads off the second jumps on the first pitch and good bye what a shot two to nothing
on two leadoff home runs Andy Pajas he just ambushed Holden on the first pitch home run
number seven for Pajas it's two to nothing for the second consecutive inning the A's
have the leadoff man aboard two outs in the inning Tyler Soderstrom at the plate another
second generation big leaguer.
This one hit hard Tyler Soderstrom center field big boy Tyler Soderstrom ties it up
in two that is ten on the season now for Sodi.
It's been almost a month Yamamoto can't believe it Shea will walk on down to first reaching
for the second time here tonight one on one out the hitters and Duhar one of the strikeout
victims so far that's going to get past the diving Max Muncy into left field here comes
Shea Langley as he's getting waved home Shea coming in throw off line it is three to two
so a double for on Duhar picking up his 19th RBI of the year all Bangalore's get it going
ground ball towards the middle backhand Kim from the outfield grass throws him out and
saves her on him who is shading him up the middle anyway makes the backhanded play on
the ball hit well by Arias is the O2 pitch that's a little dribbler up the first baseline
it'll be bare handed by Langley he shovels it to first what a play by Kurtz to stay on
the bag and they get him outstanding stretch by Kurtz and a good play by Langley to not
give up on the play.
Haysong Kim leads off against Gunnar Hoagland he is strong he's jacked smashes this ball
to right center field butler's on the run he turns and watches it fly that is good it's
the first major league home run for Haysong Kim and the Dodgers have tied it up three
to three as Kim goes deep it's not just speed he's huge 2K is for Butler in this game poked
a short Betts with a backhand flips to Muncie it's a six five put out at four how many times
has that ever happened six five how do you even score we got five four we got a guy that
can check that out though the athletic ability right there of Max and yeah that's a six five
top of the sixth one on two out it's from Yamamoto to and do her on the hand so good
again Haysong Kim will make the catch and that'll do it well Yamamoto with a bounce
back out and after giving those five runs against the Diamondbacks last week goes six
innings here gives up three runs it's Pajes leading this one off tied at three a four pitch
walk for Pajes to open his sixth Conforto after the three doubles yesterday 0 for 2 today payoff
swatted left side and pass on Duhar Pajes chugging to third the throw is in time so you've got to be
a hundred percent sure I understand the thinking by Pajes he's got the play in front of him you've
got Soderstrom who does not play left field just learning the position and it's not even close it
again that's really that's up to the runner because he has the play in front of him but
not a smart decision and another pinch hitter it's Miguel Rojas to pinch it for Kim two outs
and a man at first base Rojas with a pinch hit base hit to right center Lede hustles to try and
cut it off Conforto's got a shot here he comes Dodgers take the lead Miguel Rojas off of the
bench to put the Dodgers back in front of the sixth inning how about the nine spot for the
Dodgers today three for three gives him the lead get so tiny to the plate with a man aboard a man
scoring position off balance cue shot in Duhar throws late infield hit for Ohtani the biggest
and baddest of them all rolls a 60 footer for a base hit Betts is up the Dodgers have runners at
first and third right field at Lawrence Butler will make the grab that will in the threat Kirby
Yates is on the pitch 21st appearance in the season tying run coming to the plate in the form
of Tyler Soderstrom who had a two run homer earlier tonight his tenth of the year Tyler
Soderstrom hits one in the gap left center field it's gonna bounce off the wall it'll be Taylor
throwing it in a stand-up double for Tyler Soderstrom just when you needed a big knock
so he steps up and delivers again so Soderstrom goes to third wind up at 90 feet from home and
up the Shea Langley is here with two out it's a try again he struck him out he catches Langley
is looking with the tying run at third base so first and second with the intentional walk to
Ohtani and Mookie Betts who's looking for his first knock of his series fly ball to right
center field headed for the gap and there's the insurance Mookie Betts goes the other way
Hernandez into score Ohtani's right behind him two run double a roar from Mookie Betts and a 6-3
Dodger lead and Mookie gets a fastball right down the middle does a great job of driving it to the
right center field that's looking towards first base and well you know what's beyond first base
the A's dugout second and third are two away from Max Muncy Max has a chance to blow this game open
that ball is crushed down his second homer of the year and the Dodgers lead it nine to three
I think we've seen a couple guys souls come to the surface in this inning with a five run explosion
for L.A. in the eighth and so instead of Tanner Scott it'll be Ben Casperius and the athletics
down to the final out tonight fly ball left field Chris Taylor's there that'll do it Dodgers nine
A's three tight for a lot of the journey but broken open at the end of the road
with the five run eighth inning and the series is tied up in a game of peace.
