And Dylan Cease looking to right
the ship and be the stopper here
tonight.
He pitched well in New York last
time out.
The beauty about baseball and
down we talk about this all the
time.
It's not like football where you
got to wait a full week.
It's a new game.
It's a new day.
Got a new pitcher on the mound
who's been throwing the ball
extremely well.
Stepping up to the plate for the
Angels Zach Neto as Neto stands
up on one tags it out to left.
Hayward is all the way back at
the wall.
He leaps and it's gone.
What a start in San Diego as
Zach Neto cranks a home run.
Magneto gets another one out of
the ballpark.
His sixth home run a launch angle
of 40 degrees going one hundred
and three point eight left the
building early lead for the
Halos against Dylan Cease.
A swing and a miss.
And there's the first strikeout
tonight for Dylan Cease.
And it was on the slider.
That's out number two.
And he gets the same result
strikes out on that slider.
Jose Soriano on the mound
tonight for the Angels ninth
start of the season fifth on the
road.
But it's his third season with
the Angels and the ERA right at
four.
Ground ball is off the bat of
Tatis.
That was a great sinker.
There's two excellent sinkers
one away as Tatis grounds out.
Here's a rise with one out
chopper back toward the mound.
Soriano able to field his
position and it's two up two
down in the defense behind.
Already you've seen a couple of
ground ball.
So here is the leading hitter in
the National League Manny
Machado.
He's got an active twelve game
hitting streak the longest in
all of baseball on the ground up
in the middle of the center
field make it a 13 game hitting
streak for Manny Machado to
outback here in the first inning
should be no surprise that
Manny's squaring one up in the
sweet spot hitting hard on the
ground for the 13 game of the
longest active hitting streak
down the majors and Merrill
drives one to right center
field.
It's Paris after it out near the
warning track.
Paris on the move makes the
catch right up against the wall
and the inning ends on that deep
fly out the center field.
Joe Adel leads off to the
Angels top of the third inning.
Dylan Cease goes back to work
and Adele swings pops it a mile
high behind first base
Cronenworth.
Arise Tatis all there and a rise
up against the sidewall and foul
ground reaches out to make the
catch.
Adele is out one down here in
the top of the third inning.
Oh and to cease will deal and a
pitch is swung on and miss
strike three number five for
Dylan Cease and two down here in
the third inning.
The slider is good enough
tonight that he could tell
hitters it's coming in.
I don't think they'd be able to
get to it.
Swing and a miss six strikeouts
for Dylan Cease back to back
case with a third time tonight
top of the fourth Dylan Cease
back to work against the Angels
who've got a one nothing lead
next delivery.
And that's a little flare the
opposite way.
It's going to drop in a shallow
left center field.
That was a good job.
A two strike hitting there by
Shana well to center struck
pretty well.
Jackson Merrill going back to the
edge of the track to make the
catch right side and through
and diving is going to work.
That will save a run throw to
third.
They'll be not holding on to it
as a rise.
Oh most definitely would have
scored the quarter worth on the
short run and right able to get
to that ball and have to throw
the brakes on a shot.
Well Rob third base swing and a
miss and C.S.T. to that strikeout
number seven for Dylan Cease
second time Taylor Ward's down
by way of the cat.
This is ninety eight.
He's very late on that one on
the ground towards short
Bogarts.
We'll go to second underhanded
to end the inning.
So out of the jam is C.S.T.
Angels have a one nothing lead
top of the fifth and Petko and
the bottom of the order for the
Angels coming up.
Still got a one nothing lead
after the Netto leadoff homer
and grounds on a two hopper to
first base.
A rise will take it himself
throughout number one goes to
the fastball and strikes him out
eight strikeouts for Dylan Cease
to down bookends and some
sliders in between.
Good looking bookshelf right
there for Dylan Cease swing and
a miss and he strikes up Paris
for the second time tonight.
And that's nine for C.S.T. to
tie his season high ball for a
leadoff walk for Zander Bogarts
second walk handed out by
Soriano to a line to right in
the chest Andre's in business
runners at the corners with
nobody out here in the fifth.
I thought Adele was going to
try to come in and make that
catch a little indecisive plays
the hop.
Oh look at the face off his
glove and then right in the
grill.
First runner in scoring position
for the Padres in this game
first and third Jason Heyward
and a swing I believe going to
second base.
In the center field from third
comes Bogarts to tie the game
fires it in the center tied one
to one.
And now Heyward does strike out
as Martin Maldonado comes to the
plate.
Got to get this go ahead run
home one way or another.
But it's dropped down.
Here comes the squeeze.
He's in nicely done.
Gets it down from third base
comes Cronenworth with the
Padres second run to take the
lead.
Padres have come back with two
of their own in the bottom of
the fifth take a two one lead
swing and a miss and he struck
him out on the slider.
Ten strikeouts for Dylan Seuss
and strikeout six double digit
strikeout game as a member of
the Padres for Dylan Seuss
Shalwell rips a base hit.
He's a good hitter.
Base hit the left base hit the
right.
And it's a left hander being
able to put the ball in play
against Seuss Slap the other
way a base hit another slider
that got the plate back to back
batter good swing there for
Moncada.
Now the visit is over.
Boncada at first Shalwell at
second one out here in the
sixth inning.
Jorge Soler the batter on the
ground toward shortstop
Bogart's a good a second for one
on the first.
Dylan Seuss gets through six and
has struck out a season high
ten batters Dylan Seuss back on
the mound.
This game's now a ten plus
strikeout since the beginning of
twenty twenty one.
He's got twenty two of them to
and to the pitch to Ward swung
on and popped up right side of
the infield Cronenworth calling
off a rise who gives way and on
the dirt about midway between
first and second Jake makes the
catch one out tap swing roller
to the right side Cronenworth to
his left collects it gets rid of
it quickly and in time to a way
nicely done three to pitch.
That is ball for he loses a two
out base on balls and that'll be
the end of his evening with
Estrada ready to go in the pen.
That's a night for Dylan Seuss
and the Padres fans and let him
know they think of him as he
comes off.
Jeremiah Estrada comes out of
the bullpen for the Padres
bullpen that has suddenly
started giving up a lot of runs.
Here's Joe Adele on the first
pitch he rips it to the gap he
left center field that bounces
all the way to the wall.
And here's a chance to tie the
game.
But he goes on his way around
third the relays on the way to
the plate.
He's a tie game Joe Adele makes
it to the two Matthew Lugo who
started in left field last
night will be the battle.
And there's a line drive out to
left.
This one is deep.
That ball comes off the bench
and delivers on two pitches.
The Angels have taken the lead
struggles for the bullpen in the
month of May continue that's
ball for and Fernando John to
begin the bottom of the loopers
shallow right center in a tough
spot.
Neto's going to get it and
makes the catch.
He's one of the best I've seen
going back on Papa.
That is ball for Machado walks
the tying run is on base and the
potential go ahead run is coming
up two down in the eighth.
Here's Gavin Sheets fly ball.
Sheets will score this closer
now that walking lead in the
dirt gets away.
It comes Machado and now a lead
walk issued by Kenley Jansen to
put the winning run aboard for
Fernando.
In the end of the San Diego.
And tonight it's the Padres who
come from behind and beat the
Angels six to four.
What can't this guy do.
