Johann (Joseph) Anton (Bernhard) Kobrich [Cobrich, Kobricht]
(Landsberg am Lech, 30 May 1714 - Landsberg am Lech, 9 August 1791)
German organist and composer. Son of the organist of the parish church in Landsberg, Maximilian Adam Kobrich (?-1730), he probably studied with his father. When he was 16 years old succeeded him and held the same position as organist until his death. In 1782, after his wife died, he turned to theology and was ordained priest. As a composer, he wrote a large amount of harpsichord and organ works as well as masses, litanies, vespers and minor sacred pieces. Several of his works were printed in Nuremberg and Augsburg and achieved great success in Central and Eastern Europe.
