āWhen I first heard about DeepSeek and its battle with Open AI ... I saw it as an opportunity for the Chinese government to have free access to all of our data as they see fit,ā said Groberg. āThe Chinese have been developing the majority of the worldās small drones. I believe that the majority of the Russian [drones] come from China. ... I know that Ukrainians are also using their own specific drones, and theyāre creating as much chaos on the other side. So, it really has changed the landscape of warfare.ā
Groberg is a retired U.S. Army Captain who fought in Afghanistan and was severely injured attempting to thwart a suicide bomber. For his actions, he received the Medal of Honor, Americaās highest award for military valor.
They picked me up, and Iām hopping on one leg. And I saw Commander Griffin, Major Gray, Major Kennedy, and then USAID [officer] at the time, Ragaei Abdelfattah, were all killed by the same bomber that didnāt kill me,ā said Florent Groberg.
āEverything that we have in this nation is because of men and women who put their lives on the line and didnāt come home. And their familiesāthey have to live with the consequences of that,ā he said.
