I'm lucky to have a serious girlfriend named Paula.
Bill Gates is opening up about the new love in his life.
Weeks after reflecting on the end of his 27-year marriage to Melinda French-Gates,
the Microsoft co-founder appears on Today, February 4th,
where he sheds new light on his romance with girlfriend Paula Heard.
And you have lots of good things in your life.
You have two new little granddaughters.
And again, you're a red carpet official.
There's a woman in your life named Paula Heard.
That's right. I'm lucky to have a serious girlfriend named Paula.
So we're having fun going to the Olympics and lots of great things.
Bill and Paula first sparked romance rumors in 2023,
four years after the death of her husband, former Oracle CEO Mark Heard,
and two years after the billionaire ended his marriage to Melinda.
Last year, the two were spotted attending the 2024 Olympic Games back in July
and even making their romance red carpet official
at the Breakthrough Prize Awards and Ceremony at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.
And while the 69-year-old is looking ahead to life with his new love,
Bill still admits that his divorce from Melinda is one of his life's biggest regrets.
As he told the Times of London during an interview published January 25th,
that was the mistake I most regret.
You would have to put that at the top of the list.
There are others, but none that matter.
The divorce thing was miserable for me and Melinda for at least two years.
He continued,
There's a certain wonderfulness to spending your entire adult life with one person
because of the memories and depth of things you have done and having kids together.
When Melinda and I met, I was fairly successful, but not ridiculously successful.
That came during the time that we were together.
So she saw me through a lot.
