Hi, I'm a golf coach. Welcome to the golf course. Golf is an outdoor sport where you use golf clubs to hit a golf ball off of grass into a hole far away. Let's go learn how we play. Welcome to our golfing school. The game of golf is quite so cool. But golf can be a complex game so coaches can show you the way. When we play we have one goal to get the ball into the hole. How do we go from here to there? Our clubs will help us have no fear. Grip the club with both your hands. Now follow me to where we stand. Aim your feet right at the ball and bend your knees. Don't stand too tall. Bring back your club. Don't go too fast. We're gonna give this ball a whack. Now turn your hips and swing away. But keep your head down the whole way. We're gonna do lots of hitting practice today. So don't worry if you miss the first one. Golf uses many different types of clubs to hit the ball. So let's go learn about the different clubs. How do I know which club to use? There is a way I will show you. Flip your golf club upside down and rest the handle on the ground. Each club has a number name but most of them will look the same. The numbers go from high to low. Now here is what you need to know. The highest number club is nine. It hits less far but goes up high. The lowest number club is two. It travels far but it's hard to use. The driver is the number one. And this club is a lot of fun. It makes the ball go really far. Now go out there and get a par. Now you know how to hit and which clubs to use. But once we get close to the hole, we need to get the ball in the hole. Which requires a special club called a putter. Let's learn how to use it. Welcome to the putting green. So now it's time to learn putting. The putter is a special club to give the ball a little bump. We use this club when we get close. It knocks the ball into the hole. Don't hit too hard. It moves quite fast. The putting green is the short grass. Way to go. You made it in. How many times did you hit it? Add it up and that's your score. That's one hole down. Now 17 more. A game of golf can take quite long. So bring your friends to tag along. When playing golf, the winner is the player who had the least hits. Let's review everything we learned. The game of golf is played on a golf course which has 18 holes. The goal is to get the golf ball in the hole with as little shots as possible. We use different clubs to hit the ball. The lower numbers go farther and the higher numbers go less far. When we get on the putting green, we use our putter to help us tap the ball into the hole. That's all for today.
