Hey there, April of Yes2Next here. Do you find yourself sitting at a desk for long hours or
maybe sitting in front of the TV for a lot of hours? Well, it's really important to get up
at least every hour and to move around and stretch. You know, by sitting so long, you know,
it's bad for your posture, can increase muscle stiffness and just weaken your muscles. So,
it's very important to move regularly during the day. Okay, so I'm really excited to share
some of my favorite desk stretches that I use because I'm often at the computer a lot
and I hope they're helpful for you. All right, so we'll take a pause here and we'll get started.
Okay, we're going to start with some neck stretches and we're going to tilt our head to the
left and breathe and center and tilt to the right and center and look up. Breathe, center
and look down and center and look to your left. Feel that nice stretch on the side of your neck.
Center and to your right and center. Now, we're going to open those shoulders up with
some shoulder rolls. So, one, good, two, three, and four. Breathe, reverse it. Go one, two,
three, and four and breathe. Very nice. Okay, we're going to continue with some upper body
stretches. Arms in a T, arms straight across your chest. Very nice. Stretch out the upper arm and
bend your elbow. Lean for a nice tricep stretch. You should feel a nice stretch
on the side of your body as well. And go back down. Take a breath. Arms in a T,
other arm across the chest. Take a breath. Nice. Breathe. Bend your elbow and lean to your right
and take a breath and do some shoulder rolls. Two, three, and four and reverse it.
Yes. Loosen up those shoulders. Three, and four. Very nice. Take a breath. Okay,
now we're going to breathe up. Inhale, clasp our hands at the top, inside out hands and
lean to your left. Feel that nice stretch in the arms, wrists, side of your body and the other side
to the right. Up and breathe. Very nice. Come on down slowly. Take a breath.
We're going to go right into some twists. Twist to your left. Look behind. Sit up tall.
Let a nice spinal stretch and breathe. Take a breath. Center and to your right.
Back. Sit tall and breathe. Come back to center. Very nice. Now we're going to do a move to open
up the chest. So be solidly on the ground. Palms behind the ears and your head. Just pull those
elbows back. Sit up tall and breathe. Take some deep breaths here. Feel that chest open up.
Nice. Look up and come on. Okay, this next move is aimed at opening up your hips. So feet
solidly on the ground. Bend one leg and bring it above your opposite knee and just hold. And if
you can't do this move, you can just lower that leg onto the floor or put it on top of a box
to make this stretch a little bit easier. Okay? All right. Come out of that. Breathe. Bend the
other leg. Ankle above the knee or on the floor box. Breathe. Feel that hip open up. Very nice.
Relax. Sit up tall and breathe. Now we're going to stretch out our back of our legs and our back.
So one foot straight out. Toe up to the ceiling and fold over gently until you feel a stretch.
I feel this in the back of your leg and your back. Just breathe and slowly come up. Okay?
Bend the other leg. Straighten the other leg out and hinge at the hips. Slowly go down and breathe.
It's important not to bounce here. Just hold the stretch and breathe into it. Very nice.
And come up slowly. Take a breath. Now we're going to do a move to wake up those ankles and
feet. So legs straight out. Just circle your ankle in one direction. That's right. Breathe.
Sit up tall and reverse and breathe. Really good to loosen up these ankles and feet. You've been
sitting all day. And let's do the other leg straight out. Circle one direction. Nice.
Send everything up and breathe. Reverse it. Lean. Very nice. And come on down. We're going to end
with one of my favorite stretches. Feet hip distance apart. Arms straight out. Fingertips
about six inches from your chair or desk. And just hinge over at the hips. Thread your head
through your arms and just hang here. Take a breath. You should feel a nice stretch in your
arms, your shoulders, your back, your glutes, and your hamstrings. Just breathe.
But we come up because I like this one so much. And do it one more time. Take a breath. Arms straight
out. Hinge at the hips and breathe. And just check in with your body and just feel how good you feel
after doing these stretches. And take some real deep breaths. Nice and slowly come up.
I hope these stretches were helpful for you. Remember, if you're sitting all day,
you know, in front of a computer or watching TV, it's really important to get up every hour and
just move. Get circulation going. Get those muscles moving. All right. So thank you for
joining me for these stretches. I look forward to seeing you in a future video. And if you like
