Mary Ann | Mike Bloomberg for President
The day was just beginning. We'd welcomed the first class of fourth graders.
There was a shooter in the school.
The first thing you have to think about is taking care of the kids in your care.
We pushed a metal file cabinet up against the door
and kind of hunkered down there with the kids.
Gun laws to curb gun violence just suffered a big blow.
When the legislation in Congress failed, it made me wonder if anybody in Washington cared.
As Mayor Mike took on gun runners in the NRA after Sandy Hook,
he doubled down, mobilizing mayors, funding and leading a nationwide effort now 6 million strong,
helping pass life-saving laws in 26 states.
As president, he'll improve background checks and ban deadly high-capacity magazines.
No one else was able to step in and do what Mike has done,
and you know what, that's making all the difference in the world.
