Welcome to Wothorpe Park, one of Stamford's most sought-after and desirable locations.
Behind these gates you've got three acres of mature grounds and parkland,
so let's take a look and see what's behind them.
This charming tree-lined driveway sweeps round to find 11 exclusive and unique homes.
Today I'm going to show you around West House.
Before I show you inside this truly special and unique home,
let's pause for a moment to admire the detail as you approach.
Beneath the collywestern slate porch there are seven
wooden carved gargoyles that really make for a grand first impression.
Once a former school, West House dates back to 1850 and is grade two listed.
Stepping inside the entrance hallway, there's a lovely tile floor
and some very nice period detail to admire.
Now let me show you the first section room.
Welcome to the drawing room. I think this room speaks for itself
in its magnificence and style. The grand papillon,
here are something else. From that high ceiling with the beautiful
detailing that runs around the room and picture rail,
the trio of arched windows and doors lead onto the garden,
with the sweet stained glass detail above it.
Grand proportions again, marble fireplace, the wood-burning stove.
This is really impactful and the stuff of dreams.
Now let me show you this, the perfect place to study and work from home.
Set in this window, you've got the lead and the stone mullion there
that grants views out across the meadows and towards Stamford.
But look up there, that's the original hand-painted detailing.
It's so exquisite.
The wooden flooring from the drawing room continues into here,
with this lovely feature window, again with magnificent views out towards Stamford.
This room also features a dramatic fireplace with carved detail.
Just look at this contemporary kitchen, it really zings and pops in here.
I love the clever use of respecting the old features.
You've got old servants' bells and a panelled ceiling,
and of course, magnificent stone mullion windows again.
That's really the perfect place for bench seating.
The kitchen is really well equipped with all the appliances you'd expect to find,
all fitted by Siemens.
To keep your kitchen chore and clutter-free,
there's a separate laundry room and the final reception room on the lower ground floor.
Descending the staircase and turning left, you'll find that lovely laundry room.
Also on this level, you'll find the guest clinic room,
and this room I think makes the perfect space
for sitting back at the end of the hard week and watching and unwinding,
and maybe taking in a movie.
A door from here leads out onto the lower terrace.
The home's got a great and practical flow to it,
and a door from the kitchen returns this wonderful hallway.
So again, that lovely tile flooring, beautiful carved detailing on the doors,
and you've got that magnificent stained glass window there
that really guides you off upstairs with St George in the centre.
Ascending the ground staircase,
you get a lovely detailed bird's eye view of that lovely stained glass window.
The ground proportions of the home continue on the first floor.
On top of the staircase and turning right, you'll find the first bedroom.
With its high ceilings,
you've also got a lovely stone and lead mullion window that overlooks the park.
In between here and the next bedroom, you'll find a luxuriously fitted shower room.
With dreamy views out over the rooftops towards the church spires of Stamford Town,
this adorable bedroom also features fitted wardrobes and a decorative fireplace.
Returning to the landing, four stairs lead on.
Discover the next bedroom that also enjoys those town views.
And the wonderful family bathroom with slipper bath, separate shower, basin and loo.
Located above the drawing room, this spectacular bedroom
also shares the same stunning architectural detail to the windows there.
And again, a grand ceiling, this room also features fitted wardrobes
and a very luxurious ensuite shower room.
Now follow me as I show you the gardens.
Outside, there's a lovely lawn garden with mature trees, shrubs and plants.
There's lots of places to entertain your family and friends.
To the side of the terraced area, stone steps lead to the lower level.
On this lower level, you'll find a great sized terraced area
and a wonderful kitchen garden.
The gate to the side leads out to driveway parking and double garage.
I hope you've enjoyed my tour today around West House.
