As the race for AI dominance heats up, global tech firms from Nvidia to Microsoft and OpenAI are making Taiwan a key part of their AI strategy, not just for the most advanced chips, but also for servers as well as cooling systems in data centres.

Taiwan has emerged as the one-stop centre where they can get all the solutions they need. This as President William Lai pledges to expedite Taiwan’s transformation into an AI island. CNA correspondent Victoria Jen speaks with analysts to understand Taiwan’s role in the global AI boom, why the status of a ‘nameless hero’ or ‘hidden champion’ works so well for the island’s technology companies and what the future holds for them.
