This way.
Hold my arm.
There's the door.
Risky business.
Keep your eyes closed.
They are very closed.
Step up.
Okay.
And now you are going to turn this way.
Okay.
And hold on a second.
Hi.
Can you grab my hand?
Where is it?
Right here.
Are you ready?
Yeah.
Okay.
Elliot's going to lead us in a couple of worship songs.
So he's going to start with Gratitude.
Heavenly Father, I just want to thank you for this beautiful day that you've given us.
The beautiful woman that is standing behind me, God.
She's made in your image and we love her, God.
And I pray that you would just have your hand over this day.
That you would just bless us in our marriage and our future, God.
In your name I pray.
Amen.
Oh my.
I could sing these songs.
As I often do.
But every song must end.
And you never do.
Caitlin, Darlene, Dory.
Here it is.
The day that we've both been so excited for.
And the one that I knew would be coming since we first fell in love.
Jordan.
I stand here before God and all of our friends and family sure of one thing.
That I want to be your wife.
So, I have a military background.
But nothing in my 53 years would have prepared me to give my daughter away.
Don't cry.
I can't cry yet.
Okay, okay.
Wow.
I don't want to get makeup on you.
Beautiful.
Jordan, from a father's point, I could tell right off the bat I had nothing to worry about.
And that was the most relieving thing a father could ever have.
Caitlin, the very moment that you walked in our door and we saw you.
I just thought, Jordan's a goner.
And ever since, we just love you.
You're so kind.
Your love for people and the love for the Lord.
We're just so blessed that God has brought you two together.
And we couldn't love you guys more.
It's amazing how when she walks into a room, her smile just absolutely lights up the room.
So, Caitlin, I also want to thank you for loving Jordan unconditionally.
I remember the first time we spent time together.
You came over and we watched a bunch of movies.
And during the movie, we saw a shooting star outside my apartment window.
I'll always remember the way your face lit up with excitement.
Because this was the first shooting star you had seen.
I love the way you get excited about so many things, big and little.
It shows the passion in your heart and your love for life.
I love your generosity, your sense of humor, and the way you always make people smile.
Your love for others as a parent, no matter what you're doing.
Whether you're helping the elderly, playing with children.
Your love for others shows and you bring such joy to everyone around you.
My dad, unfortunately, passed away in January.
And Caitlin had the great privilege of living with him.
For a year while she was going to university.
And prior to them living together, they already had a bond.
But when she moved in, that bond was solidified.
And so I know that if he was here tonight, he would have that bowl of Reese's Pieces in that candy bar sitting right in front of him.
Saying it was all his.
And I know that he would be teasing you mercilessly, but also telling you about how proud he was of you.
And how happy he was for you.
Over these past few months, we've gone through some really tough times together.
Through it all, you've been my biggest support system.
And I wouldn't be able to get through it without you.
You are my biggest blessing. I truly cannot imagine life without you.
You've shown me what a godly relationship should look like.
And how I should be loved.
You're the man I prayed for and I truly didn't think I would find a man who loves the Lord and loves me with his whole heart.
I don't know what the future holds, but I do know that in all the good times and throughout the struggles, I will be there no matter what.
You are patient, you are kind, and you acknowledge my strengths and you accept my faults.
I choose you and promise to choose you every day as my husband.
I promise that I will always listen to your talks about cameras, even though I may not understand what you're talking about.
And I promise that our lighting in our house is never too yellow for you.
I promise to always leave a godly example in our home.
I promise to always have your back and I hope that you will always have mine.
I love you, Kaitlyn Doherty, and I'm so excited to be called your husband.
Jordan, you are my forever, my best friend, my dream come true, and now my husband. I love you.
Alleluia, Alleluia.
All is not much, nothing else but for my King, except for our singing.
Alleluia, Alleluia.
Jordan and Kaitlyn, today we have come and with you worship the giver of this unimaginable blessing.
Before God and all present, you have confessed your love for each other.
You have promised to be faithful to each other and have committed to follow Christ in a lifelong marriage relationship.
It is therefore my privilege as a minister of the Gospel of our Master and Savior to pronounce you husband and wife.
But God has joined together in this union that no person ever attempt to break or destroy.
It is now my privilege to present to you Mr. and Mrs. Jordan and Kaitlyn Mitchell.
Jordan, you have no idea how proud we are.
I have never seen anybody in this world put a smile on Kaitlyn's face the way that you do.
I was hesitant at first, but Jordan has proved himself to be an amazing guy that I'm proud to call a brother-in-law.
And Kaitlyn, you're so sweet and so amazing and I'm so happy to have you as another sister.
Jordan is someone that brings out the goofiest side of me.
Jordan and Kaitlyn, you are a gorgeous couple today and we just couldn't love you more.
We are both honored and proud to call you our daughter and we welcome you into the Mitchell household.
Jordan, welcome to the family. We are so blessed.
We never knew at that time, but he was destined by God to be with my daughter.
You're my one.
