Just because you’re emotionally intelligent and can articulate your feelings doesn't mean you don’t need support.
People often mistake emotional competence for being always okay — for being the one who holds everyone else up. But even the strongest ones need checking in on too.
So this is your reminder: check on your strong friends. And if you are one of those emotionally competent humans — I see you. I celebrate you. I’m sending love and light your way today.

Something odd happens when you have
emotional
competence, when you have good emotional
intelligence and good emotional literacy
that you're able
to name your feelings and give language
to your pain and your sadness.
Therefore, people don't think you are in
pain or that you need support. You're
the one that
always is leaned upon.
you're not a leaner. You get so used to
being the person that's leaned upon that
people mistake
that for stability and
reliability and never ask you how you
are. Don't check in with how you are.
I've often said to you guys, check in
with your strong friends, not just your
friends that are struggling clearly at
the moment. And I want to celebrate your
emotional competence. Thank you for
building your internal
world to become emotionally competent.
The downside of it, so many people rely
on
that and mistake
your softness in the way you process
your emotions without drama and
loudness. They mistake it for
stability. And you don't need any help.
You don't need any support. And I know
because I am emotionally competent that
we do and you do. So I am sending love
and support and light to all of you
emotionally competent humans in our
world who we couldn't do
without. But I hope someone today asks
you how are you and you feel comfortable
to be honest with them. Love you guys.
You strong ones. Cheers.
