Rick Levine's May 2025 Forecast: Consciousness Upgrade In Progress
During an operating system upgrade, there is a moment after the screen goes blank and prior to the computer coming back online when we are unsure of the outcome. Will the upgrade be successful? Will the computer even come back to life? What will the new program be like? Will the previous idiosyncrasies and problems still be present? Will the new operating environment be better than the old, familiar one?
Although humanity is in the midst of an evolutionary reset, it’s such an immense process that we cannot see the entire event from our limited perspective. Nevertheless, it is apparent that the first few months of 2025 are living up to our astrological expectations of a major reboot. The first steps in this cultural transformation are shocking to many as we are confronted by volatile shifts in the balance of power all around the world, including dramatic threats to the foundation of government here in the United States. We are surely seeing the first waves of nihilistic Pluto’s 20-year visit to egalitarian Aquarius. Pluto turns retrograde on May 4, but is stationary at the same degree and minute through May 10, barely moving one-sixth of a degree through the end of the month. The Scorpio Full Moon on May 12 at 9:55 am PDT opposes wildcard Uranus, setting the stage for more unexpected breakdowns and breakthroughs. However, the Mercury-Pluto square less than a half-hour later adds the intensity of a hidden power struggle that comes into our awareness, driving this transformational lunation.
For the first time since last November, all the inner planets are direct and clear of the difficult repeating aspects made through April. We are certainly moving into a new set of circumstances and cannot return to our old and familiar ways. However, there is still one last pass of the challenging Jupiter-Saturn square that will culminate in mid-June. The conflict between expansive Jupiter’s growth-oriented message and restrictive Saturn’s contractive directive will continue to build all month. Meanwhile, Saturn continues to narrow the gap with idealistic Neptune as it moves toward its entry into irrepressible Aries on May 24.
The Sun and Mercury enter adaptable Gemini on May 20 and 25, respectively, amplifying our curiosity and presenting us with a new palate of options to address lingering problems. The Gemini New Moon on May 26 at 8:02 pm PDT is an opportunity to plant intellectual seeds of intention by writing or speaking words that light our way into the future. Additionally, the Chiron-Eris conjunction on the same day is the first of three that culminate in March 2026. Ultimately, healing chronic ailments in our personal and social environments is the most pressing task at hand.
