Big news out of Hong Kong today, and it's the cutest kind of news you'll hear all week. Meet the newest superstars at Ocean Park Hong Kong. Twin giant panda cubs making their first ever public appearance with their mom. Ying Ying, born on August 15th last year. These twin cubs, one male, one female, are the pride of the park and have been growing strong behind the scenes. But this Friday, March 21st, they finally stepped out to greet the world. Fans showed up hours before the park even opened, hoping to catch a glimpse of the precious family moment. And trust us, it was worth the wait. Ocean Park's head of zoological operations, Howard Chuck, says panda cubs grow up best when nurtured by their mom. And here's proof. Watch as the male cub trails Ying Ying, adorably asking for attention, until mom rewards him with kisses and tummy licks. And elder sister, the female cub, also got a sweet kiss on the cheek while chilling on a wooden rack. After all the frolicking, Ying Ying pauses to breastfeed her cubs. A rare and heartwarming scene that had visitors in awe. Here's a few fun facts for you panda fans. The twins now weigh around 12 kilograms each. They're both breastfed and bottle fed. And did you know their dad, Ler Ler, lives separately? That's because male pandas don't raise their young. Giant pandas are solitary by nature. But here's the thing. Only 3,000 tickets are given out each day to see the panda family, starting from 10 a.m. By noon on Saturday, they were all snapped up. Visitors get a precious three-minute window, in small groups, to meet Ying Ying and her adorable cubs. And the excitement doesn't stop here. The cubs' official names will be announced later this year, after a city-wide naming contest. So keep an eye out. If you're in Hong Kong, don't miss your chance to meet this panda family up close.
