Hello everyone, welcome to today's video. Today we will explore together an interesting and
fascinating journey of growing and harvesting grapes for wine. What's special is that we will
learn about both methods, traditional manual and modern using machines. Are you curious?
If so, follow the video until the end. There will definitely be many surprises for you.
First, let's go back in time a bit and see how farmers grow grapes by hand.
The image of vast grape fields, farmers wearing hats, holding scythes and carefully pruning each
bunch of grapes has been associated with the romance of grape growing for hundreds of years.
Growing grapes by hand is not easy. You must have patience, love for the land,
and a deep understanding of each type of grape you are caring for.
Each vine is meticulously cared for from the time it is a young plant until it bears fruit.
With the manual method, everything is done meticulously and slowly. Farmers have to
carefully clean up what is left from the previous harvest, weed, and even use their hands to brush
away the layers of dust on the vines. They also have to be very careful when using pesticides,
ensuring that the vines are protected from dangerous pests, but still maintain the
pruning. If you think this is as simple as cutting hair, you are wrong. Farmers have to know exactly
when and where to prune, removing weak branches so that the plant can concentrate nutrients on
stronger branches. They have to tie each vine to the trellis by hand, guiding the plant to grow in
the right direction. Every movement, every step reflects patience and skill, like a sculptor.
And then, when the vines start to flower, the farmers will prune the excess flowers
to keep only the healthiest ones. This results in larger, sweeter, and higher quality grapes.
During this process, they even use gibberellin, a natural plant hormone,
to stimulate the growth of the fruit, making them larger and more uniform.
At this point, you might be wondering, wow, this manual process seems great,
but is there a faster way? The answer is yes, and that's where modern machinery comes in.
With the development of technology, grape growing is now automated in many stages,
saving time and effort for farmers. Imagine this. Instead of having to pull out each blade of grass
by hand, we now have automatic lawnmowers. Instead of having to water each vine individually,
the automatic irrigation system will take care of it all. Modern technology also helps analyze
the soil, accurately measuring the amount of water, humidity, and light that the plant needs.
Everything is optimized for the best growth of the grapevine.
