Chelsea celebrate their first Premier League title

Steve Dunne has already checked the watch. Jose Mourinho is already celebrating. Blue is the colour, Chelsea is the name on the Premiership trophy and in his debut season as manager Jose Mourinho has done it. He's led the team to title success with two goals from the man who finished as runner-up in the PFA Awards last season. He's not a runner-up today, he's a champion. Chelsea are Premiership champions for the 2004 to 2005 season. Let the party begin in Bolton. When you win your league you are the best club in the land and joining the boys are part of the best club in the land this year. Just think for 49 years winning titles has been something that's happened for other clubs. Now it has happened again for Chelsea. What a centenary year this has been for them. 14 different clubs have won the league title since Chelsea last won it back in 1955. The likes of Wolves and Burnley, Ipswich, Derby, Forest who are relegated today have won the title since Chelsea last won it. So these are scenes to savour for the men from Stamford Bridge. Well congratulations to you, your team are now the champions of England. You said you were the special one, does this prove it? No, our group is a special group. Our group is a special group. They deserve this. I think nobody speaking with fair and sense can say we don't deserve this title because we did it absolutely magnificent, absolutely magnificent. The players they deserve this more than anybody but I'm very happy for the fans, especially for fans never champions, so people with less than 50 years old. And Roman, I think he deserves a lot, Eugene, the people with the big boss, Peter Kenyon, but this group is really special. That's why I want to stay with them the maximum time I can. What is so special about this group of players you've moulded? It's the mentality, it's the ambition, the desire. People coming from many different places, we met for the first time in July and from that moment we build something special. When we have to play, we play. When we have to fight, we fight. When we have to suffer, we suffer, always together. This game, I think, was the perfect game to be champion because it was an incredible difficult game. Bolton is a very different and difficult style of play and we had to adapt. We play like we never do but we did it. We finished the game with Robert, Tooth, Jarosic, all the big guys for what? Just to fight and we fought like lions.
