We love Easter, don't we? There are colorful eggs, the Easter Bunny, and yummy treats like chocolate and jelly beans. Easter is such a fun time. But do you know why we really celebrate Easter? Easter is also a very special time when we remember someone who loves us so much. Jesus! A long time ago, there was a very special man named Jesus. He was kind, loving, and helped everyone he met. Jesus loved to teach people about God's love and how we can all be kind, helpful, and loving too. Jesus had many friends called disciples who followed him and learned from him. But some people didn't understand Jesus. They didn't like the things he was teaching and they decided to take him away. It was a very sad day. Jesus was put on a cross and he died. His friends were so, so sad. They missed him very much and didn't understand why it had to happen. But here's the amazing part of the story. After Jesus died, his friends placed his body in a tomb, which is like a big rock cave. They rolled a big stone in front of it. Three days later, something wonderful happened. Some women went to the tomb, but the stone was rolled away and Jesus was not there. An angel told them, Jesus is alive. Jesus had come back. He was alive again, just like he said he would be. His friends were so happy to see him again. They knew that Jesus would always be with them in their hearts forever. That's why Easter is such a joyful time. We remember how much Jesus loves us and how he brings hope, joy, and love to the world. So, while we have fun with bunnies and eggs, we also celebrate Jesus, who gave us the very best gift of all, his love. Happy Easter, my friends!
