Hello everyone, I'm Edmund. Welcome to my house.
We are on the second floor. We moved here about 5 years ago.
This is the main corridor.
A small bathroom here.
Very small, but useful, since we are mostly 3 people in this house.
And all this is storage space, which is very useful, because the space is very small.
Each corner is used for useful things, such as storage.
They are not very deep, but they help.
This is the main living room.
We have the living room. Sometimes, we stay here.
Me and my son have dinner on the floor. We watch TV. We play video games.
It's a very private space.
So, I wanted a modular sofa. And most of the modular sofas are very big.
So, I took a sofa, added these cushions and a pouf to make a small modular sofa.
As you can see, most of the space is very minimalist.
When I moved, I was obsessed with Carvalho Claro.
I bought this closet to match my dinner table, which you will see in a minute.
And it also had an old piano that was dark like a alligator and that really disturbed the style of this place.
So, I made a point of finding one that would match the wood,
which really gives space and illuminates the environment, which I love.
And then, at some point, I got a little bored with this minimalist Scandinavian style.
So, I had a little fun with the colors.
So, you can see that I bought some colorful pillows and added this small support table here.
You will see at the dinner area too. The pillows are very colorful.
I added this little seat here and this little one. I think it's like an Ottoman bench.
Yes. So, it's good to have a little energy and a little color.
Most of the prints were chosen only by the color combinations and composition.
But this is, in fact, a print of my work.
So, I work with fashion marketing and this was like a campaign that we photographed for Lust.
The colors work very well and are kind of fun.
So, here at the dinner area, as you can see, my favorite tone of wood is light brown.
This was the original piece I bought. It's from Castela,
which is a local manufacturer in Montreal, and their products are of great quality.
And my cat is going crazy.
And what I love about this space is that it has a bench on this side,
which is also a storage space below, which is very useful in a small space like this.
I put some pillows here and this is my son's favorite area.
Because there they saw a little sofa, a cozy corner for him.
He usually sits there.
I think the challenge of this space is that it has less light,
because all the other spaces have windows around.
This is the space that doesn't have much light.
I thought about putting a lightbulb, but then I thought that a giant mirror would help
to refract a little light and create a little more interest in that space.
It was very difficult to assemble this on the brick wall, but we did it.
Spring is in the air and, while the Art of Interiors team explores another beautiful house,
we also think about how this time of year can affect us.
This segment is a partnership with BetterHelp.
Spring brings many changes, longer days, different routines,
and a natural need to renovate the environment.
For us at Art of Interiors, this usually means diving into new projects
and thinking about how we can improve our own spaces.
These transitions, although exciting, can sometimes seem a little disturbing or oppressive.
This change of energy and priorities can lead to a feeling of discomfort,
even in the midst of all the new exciting beginnings.
It is a common experience to feel a little unbalanced as our routines change with the seasons.
If you are feeling that seasonal transition anxiety, our partner, BetterHelp,
offers a great way to find support during these times of change.
They connect you to a certified therapist who understands these feelings.
Anxiety usually reaches its peak at the end of spring,
and BetterHelp is a platform dedicated to helping you deal with these challenges.
Many members seek support for anxiety and 69% report symptoms improvement
after about six weeks of therapy at BetterHelp.
Getting started is simple.
Just fill out a questionnaire and you can get in touch with a therapist as quickly as possible.
You can easily switch therapists at any time,
at no extra cost, if you do not find the right professional initially.
If you are feeling overloaded this spring,
consider BetterHelp as a resource to help you feel more in control.

So, the next dinner area is the kitchen, where we cook most of the time
and spend much of the weekend sharing a glass of wine with my girlfriend cooking.
If you look at the space on the floor below, like our neighbors below,
they basically have the same floor as ours.
But here, our house was renovated, so it was open and you can see the big difference it makes.
Down there, it's like a closed bathroom on that side.
And then the way the balconies are much more closed.
And then it is closed for the dining room.
So, this version up here is much more open.
Just like the rest of the space, everything is hidden.
So, this is a pantry.
But it also has the electric panel hidden behind the pantry.
The microwave is built-in, which is great.
The blackboard is very useful.
Me and my son do silly things on it.
Here, we were betting on Superbowl.
The main prize was US $ 10.
We both lost.
And then everything here is very integrated.
We have a composting thing here too, which is great.
Standard oven.
All cabinets are very large.
There are no suspended cabinets.
Which gives room for the pendants here.
Which is very interesting.
These are from IKEA.
They were a limited edition collaboration with raw colors.
Which was very messy and very difficult to get.
Our fridge is here.
So, another way to maximize the space in this house is to hide things.
The fridge is here.
It's a built-in fridge.
It's also from IKEA.
And back here.
I can turn on the light and show you.
So, this is a great place for storage.
But I find it difficult to organize it well enough so that you can always show it.
The previous owners had all the pots combining with pasta and other things.
I'm not very tidy.
So I only use the place to expose objects that I have scattered.
And that I like to combine a little with the colors.
I did that.
Lama is my son.
His last name is Lembe.
And the first name is Arthur.
So people call him Lama.
So, the sink here near the window is great.
Washing dishes is not so bad.
You can look outside and have a beautiful view.
It's a sink, which is very typical of Montreal.
Most of the apartments on the plateau, which is where we are, are next to the sink.
So you can go to the sink.
And there's a dishwasher here.
Which is also very small.
But it works.
We just need to charge and discharge it more often.
Which is a good habit.
Anyway.
Once again, maximizing the light in this space.
This door here goes to the balcony.
And it's this glass door that lets more light in.
I leave my garbage out there so it's much easier to organize.
And then you go to the balcony and there's a small backyard down there.
It's winter now.
So it's chaotic.
But it's nice in the summer.
So this is the main bathroom.
It is generous to call it the main bathroom.
But it is technically a main bathroom.
Very useful and practical.
Once again, a lot of things fit here inside the space.
We have a washer and dryer in the closet.
And I hang all my towels here so they don't get exposed.
My cat's sandbox is also embedded in the closet.
I cut a little hole here for him.
Because I hate mess and he seems to like it.
And the rest of the bathroom.
Floating sink.
I love to listen to music while I take a bath.
So this little IKEA sleep sound box is great.
It doesn't fit very well in space.
But it's not that bad.
All mirrors have storage space behind them.
Which is very useful.
I keep the space well organized.
It's very old.
But it fits in this space.
I've had it for 25 years or something.
A very generous bathroom rug.
That I love to take out of the shower.
And it has a fluffy carpet.
Yes, very simple.
So, at the other end of the corridor is my little office.
More closets here.
Which is very useful.
Another piece of light cardboard here.
A small support table.
Not much fits.
But it's a nice space to put your keys or anything else when you come in.
This is my work area at home.
How does this table fold?
Actually, it's kind of hard to do now.
But it's practical to keep it.
This is my colorful and very expressive chair.
Some people ask me if it's comfortable.
Actually, it is.
I also like to keep my table very clean.
So I set up the monitor here so that sometimes I can have a bigger screen.
It's also a TV.
So my son and I sometimes sit on the floor and watch TV here.
So, another patio door here.
This is at the opposite end of the kitchen.
So, the other balcony facing the street.
The other was facing the side hole.
This balcony is great in the summer.
Now, it is covered with snow and garden furniture that have fallen.
But we can go out here.
We make our breakfast out there.
It's great to watch people because it has a view of a very busy street in the corner.
And here is the room.
When we moved, there were no doors here because it was like a couple without children.
So, no room had doors.
So, I put these doors.
It is necessary.
So, here is the room.
In addition, in the spirit of maximizing every possible space.
I set up this table against this wall here, which folds.
So, when I want, I can fold it and make music sometimes.
One, I use it as a recording space.
And this again mounted on the wall and a light, you know, instead of leaving it on the table.
So this engraving here is by David Rocheney, a painter and photographer.
I love colors and it really matches the color palette of this room.
My keyboard, my guitar.
This is another engraving I made.
This is like the logo of my band that is supposedly mine.
And then the closet is behind this wall here.
I put the curtain here so we don't have to be very careful to keep it clean.
It's not very clean, but again, it's a great use of space.
And the fact that there is no door here makes the room look more airy, more open.
My favorite thing about the room is that it has a projector hidden behind this little slit here.
I close the curtains, lie in bed and watch movies on a projector, it's the best.
And on the other side of the room, the same closet, open behind.
Technically, it's a closet, because I can enter, but it's two by two.
The structure of the bed goes very well with the wood of this space.
It's an old bed that my brother gave me, it's from IKEA, but it's well done, it's good.
So, I'm Edmund, I'm a professional creation director.
I worked mainly in fashion retail, a little in creation agencies.
Recently, curiously, I moved to a new company and we make furniture.
So, now I have more access to furniture.
Before, it was more of a personal hobby.
Now it's like my job.
But I think expressing myself creatively has always been something that really passionate me.
I hope you enjoyed my space.
You can find me online if you want on Instagram, edmund4real.
They are mainly photos of me and my son.
Some other cool things, but mainly photos of me and my son.
But it's fun, we want to connect.
Thanks for coming.
