Concert offered at the Monumental Theater in Madrid on April 24, 2015.
By the Spanish Radio and Television Orchestra
Conductor: Carlos Kalmar
Guitar: Pablo Sáinz-Villegas

Pablo Sáinz-Villegas — the renowned Spanish classical guitarist — performed Joaquín Rodrigo's "Concierto de Aranjuez," one of the most famous guitar and orchestral works in the history of Spanish and world music. "Concierto de Aranjuez" (composed in 1939) is Rodrigo's most famous guitar and orchestra concerto. It is associated with the image of the Aranjuez Royal Gardens near Madrid, where Rodrigo was inspired by the peaceful and poetic beauty. In particular, the second movement (Adagio) with its lingering, profound melody is the most famous part — recorded by many artists and also arranged for many other instruments.
