Hi everyone, I'm Jeff Teague in Raleigh, North Carolina.
I am pleased to tell you about what's new for 2023 Camry.
This is a 2022 SE Camry.
It has an XP appearance package on it, but this is good enough to tell you what's new.
The first thing I want to tell you is 2023 model year doesn't appear to be a year for
a complete redesign.
We expected that, but it also doesn't appear to be a year where there's going to be a refresh.
In other words, exterior styling refresh, a facelift, no major modifications inside
as well.
Here's the change.
Toyota just announced for 2023 Camry, a refreshed nightshade edition.
So what that means is it's based on the SE model, which we have here.
It's going to be available in three different colors, midnight black, white, and then brand
new color for 2023, brand new color to Camry, reservoir blue.
It's like that movie Reservoir Dogs, but with paint colors.
Toyota is getting ready to make some major announcements in the next few weeks, but they're
slowly making some announcements here to get us excited about this, to let us know what's
new.
We just heard last week about changes coming to the 2023 Highlander.
Love the changes.
Love the changes also coming to 2023 Venza.
I've done videos on both of those.
I'll put those at the end of this video so you can check them out.
But now let's talk about 2023 Camry SE.
We're going to have an SE nightshade front wheel drive and an SE nightshade all wheel
drive, but we're also going to have the 2023 nightshade hybrid.
They're all based on the SE format.
For 2022, which is this one right here, it has 18 inch gloss black alloy wheels.
It'll have side mirror caps.
It'll have spoiler.
Those will be in gloss black, and then the badging will be in black as well.
These have the black emblem overlays right here with the XP package.
So for 2023, we're going to have the spoiler.
We're going to have the side mirrors, the front grill, the black badging, but instead
of 18 inch gloss black wheels, we're going to have 19 inch bronze finish aluminum alloy
wheels.
We've seen that.
Think about, gosh, the Hakone edition of the 86.
Think about the Trail Tacoma.
Lots of bronze going on, my friends.
It's the in thing.
It's what's new.
And then the front grill based on Camry TRD.
But those wheels, what do you think about these wheels, my friends?
So yeah, as we look around, we're going to be seeing lots of blue, lots of midnight black,
lots of white, the three colors.
But Toyota says they feel those colors are going to pop with those bronze finished wheels.
So what do you think about this one here?
The front, the side profile.
We've got the back end.
There's certainly a lot to see, my friends.
We're also going to see new blacked out headlights and blacked out taillights for the 2023 Camry
Nightshade Edition.
2023 Camry is going to have Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 plus.
That's a carryover from last year, but it's the latest evolution of Toyota Safety Sense
that keeps you safe, keeps your family safe, helps prevent accidents.
The newest members of Toyota Safety Sense that you'll be seeing are evasive steering
assist and also intersection support.
Inside it's going to be pretty much a carryover.
We know that the 2023 SE is going to be a carryover from 2022.
I don't know about the other trim levels yet.
There could be some changes coming to those.
I just don't know that.
The press release did not say.
But you can get the SE in either this ash gray interior, and it's a combination of soft
tex with fabric seating.
And then it'll have, I'm going to say, a floating seven inch screen like you see here, standard.
And then you could upgrade to the floating nine inch screen.
No change to the Toyota multimedia system.
So it's not going to be the new Toyota Audio Multimedia that will be coming to 23 Highlander
and 23 Venza.
It's going to be the same system.
It will not have wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto like you'll see in Venza and
Highlander and Tundra and Sequoia.
However, it still looks great in here.
You know, the front end was just kind of tweaked and so was the multimedia recently.
So it's just not a year.
I expect that we'll probably get a redesigned Camry.
My hunch is going to be for 2024 model year.
Just a guess.
You never know.
And a quick favor, I'll ask you from time to time, please subscribe to my new channel
Auto Jeff Reviews.
It looks at all brands, same style, same weird personality.
We just look at what's available in other brands, safety, technology, comfort, performance,
things like that.
It's interesting comparison.
And you'll see lots of Toyota videos as well.
Thanks, guys.
Go there right now.
Then come back to the video.
Thank you.
23 Camry pricing is not available yet, as we'd expect.
But 2022 Camry has some interesting statistics.
The SE Nightshade starts a few hundred dollars above $28,000 factory MSRP.
The SE Nightshade, that starts a few hundred dollars above $30,000.
So $28,000, $28,500, something like that to $30,000 and a half right in that range.
And you'd expect with just cost of living, it might go up $100, $200, $300.
But I don't think it's going to go up all that much.
I guess time will tell in the next month or two.
So is this something that you're interested in?
The 23 Camry Nightshade, what do you think about the new Reservoir Blue color?
What do you think about, I don't know, the bronze wheels?
Sounds like you're not going to have a choice.
It's going to be bronze wheels, standard on the front wheel drive SE Nightshade, the all
wheel drive version, and then also SE Nightshade Hybrid.
Woo!
All right, what do you guys think?
We got some food for thought, right?
So let me know in the comment section, are you a fan?
Were you expecting huge changes to Camry for 23?
I wasn't necessarily, but it could have happened.
I just figured we would have heard about it already.
