How to Model a House Using Sketch Up!

Sketch up is an amazing free 3D modeling software and one of the most common uses is for architectural modeling and creating houses! This video shows you the basic concepts required to to make an entire house model!

We start with a 2D floor plan, and show how to include wall width and many other things to get a dimensionally accurate layout of the space, then we begin using the push/pull tool (extruder) to bring the model into the 3D space! This is the most important step since it makes 3D models truly three dimensional!

The final steps are adding textures and materials and then creating a roof structure on the house! After that we use the walk tool to navigate the house we have just created!
