Hey everyone and welcome to Skate Magic Tutorials.
In this video, I'm going to show you how to skate for the very first time.
Basic basic steps.
Let's go.
The first thing we're going to do is always start in a V or a triangle or an upside down
pizza.
Pizza, however you want to call it, it is basically a triangle shape upside down.
Always remember, your feet are always looking at each other.
For example, we start off with our heels.
Both heels are starting together.
And we're going to glide and always remember to come back.
Starting position, lift, lean, lift, lean, lift, lean, lift.
Keep practicing these simple simple steps together.
Lean, lean.
As you see here, I'm picking up my skates.
Practice to balance on one foot at a time, just like this.
Each side, we're shifting, sharing the weight as we glide on the rink.
Lean, lift the leg, bring it back.
Always bring it back.
Let's try again.
Look at the form, lean.
Try these steps with me.
I'm going to show you from the back.
Going backwards, we're putting our feet together.
Our toe stoppers are looking at each other.
And as we're gliding, we're going back.
And how do we stop?
Back to the same position, the pizza.
This is the pizza.
Let's just call it pizza, right?
So we start off the pizza and we end in a pyramid to stop.
We start in the pyramid to go backwards and we end in a pizza to stop.
Let's try it again.
Pizza, position.
Practice leaning on each side.
Do it with me.
Lean, pick it up.
The more you practice getting comfortable on your wheels, the better.
Let's try from the back.
As you see, my feet are going back to each other.
My feet are not straight.
As you see, my knees are always together and they're touching.
And one thing to remember always is that your knees are always bent.
Now, let's try it again.
Let's go backwards.
Lean, pick it up.
We're basically lifting, sharing each side.
The left and the right, then the right, then the left, and the left, and the right.
My feet are coming just a little bit off the ground.
Just a little bit off the ground.
Try it with me.
Pick it up, go back.
And how to stop.
We put both heels together.
How to stop going forwards?
Knees are touching.
Toes are not.
Pick it up, put it down.
And let's try that again.
Here's another look from the back.
My heel is up, but I'm always bringing it back into the same position.
So let's do a recap.
This is a pyramid.
My knees are together, but my shoes, my toe stoppers, are not touching.
My knees are bent, and my knees are together.
This is to go backwards.
As you can see here, I'm picking up my skates.
You don't have to pick up your skates so high, but just
practice two seconds off the ground.
Remember, we're not skating with straight knees or straight legs.
To turn, we're going to put our skates in the direction we want to go.
Now, how do we turn?
First, you have to think.
I have to be bending my knees.
And the foot that I want to turn, or where the direction I want to be,
is I'm going to turn, and I'm going to get the other leg to follow.
Turn, the other leg, follow.
Of course, your arms will help a lot.
Your head will help a lot.
And your waist will help a lot.
Just for the basics, we are going to go back to the pizza.
Lean, pick it up.
Now, let's try going backwards.
Knees bent.
Lean, go back together.
Lean, back together.
Practice putting your legs in the weirdest position, like a little duck.
As you can see, my legs are always going back together.
To stop, the heel will be next to each other.
Watch closely.
My leg goes back together.
Watch from the side.
A lemon.
Practice the lemon.
Start with a pyramid.
End in a pizza.
Thank you guys so much for watching, and I'll see you in my next tutorial.
