Hey guys, Will here with WTF Car Reviews and today we're going to be reviewing this all-new 2022
fully loaded Ford F-150 Platinum. And before we start, I want to give a huge thank you to Baird
and the rest of the management and staff here at Elder Ford in Tampa, Florida for making this
review possible. The staff here is extremely kind and they have an impressive dealership too. I'll
leave a link to it below. And if you're looking for a new car or truck in the Tampa area,
I definitely recommend checking these guys out. And for those of you guys who don't know,
the F-150 has been a part of Ford's lineup since 1948. That's when the first generation was
released. It was just considered the F-series pickup at that point, not quite the F-150,
but the F-150 has been around in Ford's lineup for 14 generations. Now this 14th generation F-150
coming out for the 2021 model year. So it's a basically all new platform. And here we're
going to have the platinum trim, almost the top of the line. The only trim above this
is going to be the limited. And here we're going to have the four by four platinum with a base
price starting around 63,000 bucks. What do we get as far as standard equipment? We're going to
have full led lighting, power tailgate zone lighting. So at night you can have the area
that you are at illuminated, which will help you out when it comes to job sites. Inside,
we're going to have 10 way power driver's seat with memory seats, three person memory seats,
and they're going to be massage seats to really beautiful interior, genuine wood accents. We're
going to have ambient lighting inside to active motion, steering power, tilt, and telescoping
steering wheel, all standard on a $63,000 F-150. We're going to have heated and ventilated seats
as well as adjustable pedals. So if you're going to be sharing this vehicle with shorter drivers,
the adjustable pedals, as well as three person memory seats are truly fantastic features. This
vehicle is also going to be loaded with advanced safety features. We're going to get blind spot
monitoring with cross traffic alert. We're going to have full navigation. We have four pass connect
with 4G hotspot post collision braking. It would be nice to get pre-collision braking, but post
collision braking, I guess, will keep the vehicle on the road if it does get into an accident. We're
going to have rear view camera, of course, 12 inch touchscreen with wireless charging pad,
really beautiful interior on this 2022 F-150 Platinum. We are going to have a couple options.
The big one's going to be the 701A equipment group. That gives us the Platinum series. We're
going to get the Bang & Olufsen Unleashed sound system with 18 speakers, LED box lighting. We're
going to have the bed link in the box, tailgate step two, power tailgate, Ford Co-Pilot Active 2.0,
Active Park Assist 2.02, and a 360 degree camera. Also, we're going to have some small options,
including the 20 inch polished wheels. We're going to have the three and a half liter V6 EcoBoost.
That's going to run you about $600. For about $470, we're going to have the upgraded axle,
which is going to help when it comes to our towing. We're going to have the active steering.
That's going to be $1,000, as well as a couple other exterior options. You're going to have to
pay a couple hundred bucks for these beefier all-terrain tires, as well as the FX4 package.
That's going to run you about another $1,000, and the trailer equipment group is going to also run
you another $1,000. After all these options and a $1,600 destination and delivery charge,
you can expect a total vehicle price, before any discounts, right under $74,000. What do we get for
that money? Let's jump right in. Up front, as we mentioned, we're going to have the full LED
headlights. They're going to be really beautiful design, two-piece projectors with the black
housing, turn signal housing in the middle, really a massive, massive headlight. We're going to have
daytime running strips on the outside. You have to be in drive to really see the daytime runners,
but it's still a really nice pattern. We're going to have the same pattern down here for the LED
fog lights. A lot of cars pulling up to this parking lot. It was empty when I got here,
but I guess we might have to move out of here pretty shortly. Full parking sensing with a
side sensor. That's going to help when it comes to the 360. Chrome tow hook, massive grill,
really good airflow for this 3.5-liter V6. 4-badge is going to have your front-facing camera,
and we are going to have some shiny chrome for the center portion, but the upper and lower areas
are all going to be smoked. Kind of aluminized, gives you a really nice aluminum look. We'll take
one more step back. Hopefully, we don't get hit by one of these cars that are pulling in. You can
check out this front styling. Let's continue along and take a look at this wheel and tire
setup because, like we mentioned, we're going to have the chrome aluminum wheels with the tires
that are both going to be upgraded. Here they are, 20-inch rims. They're going to be wrapped in
Hankook Dynapro all-terrain tires. The dimensions are 275-60R20s. Pretty good all-terrain compound.
We're not going to have any plastic cladding surrounding the wheel well. We are going to have
the FX4 package, but if you want to keep this vehicle from getting any rock chips and paint
problems, I would recommend limiting the off-road use of this F-150 Platinum, but if you are going
to be on a job site, this vehicle can definitely handle it. F-150 Platinum badging with a heat
extractor. As far as the mirror, it's going to be absolutely massive. It fills up the frame really
well. We're going to have an additional camera on the bottom. LED turn signal. I'm not really liking
how the mirror is going to be all chrome. I kind of wish they blacked it out or gave us some type
of body color, but still not a big deal. As far as the glass, we're going to have blind spot monitoring.
It's going to be power folding mirror, and they're going to be heated to the chrome strip. It's going
to surround the bottom part of the window trim. We're going to have the blacked out trim up top.
All body color for the upper part of the door frame, too. Blacked out B-pillar with a touchpad.
So, if you go to the beach, you don't want to have your keys on you because you learned your
lesson from losing them in the sand one too many times. You can leave them in the car and use this
touchpad to lock the car up. We're going to have smart access for the driver and the front passenger.
Nothing for the rear, unfortunately, but if you upgrade to the limited trim, we'll review a limited
trim at some point and see if we are going to get some more luxury features since that is going to
be the top of the line F-150 when it comes to luxury. As far as the gas tank, we can open it up.
It's not going to be pushed to open, but you don't have to go inside to open it. We're going to be getting
93 octane recommended for this three and a half liter twin turbo. Easy fuel right back here, too.
Pretty nice features overall. Same wheel and tire setup in the back. We're going to have a smaller
brake caliper, of course. As far as the suspension setup, so unlike the Ram, we are going to have
leaf springs. So, similar to the GM trucks, the Ram is going to be the only vehicle in the segment with
full shock and damper setups. We're not going to have leaf springs on the Ram, but you can get a good
look on the suspension setup with this FX4. One thing that I'm not really liking is the differential.
As you see, it is starting to collect a little bit of rust, and this is a brand new vehicle. So,
you leave it in the comments section. Let me know what you think about that. As we mentioned, it's
going to be the FX4 off-road package, full LED taillights, and check this out, the platinum back
here, it's also illuminated. So, at night when you're driving this vehicle on the road, everyone
behind you is going to know that you have the F-150 Platinum. And shout out Elder Ford in Tampa,
Florida for making this review possible. Of course, EcoBoost badging, more parking sensors. You have
your tow hitch. I'll leave a little text box, show you what this vehicle is rated to tow. As far
as the tailgate though, as you notice, we're going to have two sets of cameras. You have your wiring
harnesses for the towing equipment right down here as well, and it's going to be lit on the sides.
But as far as the tailgate, you got both your cameras back here. Press the button, we are going
to have a power opening tailgate. And it's not going to be a spray-in bed liner, but it's going
to be a drop-in screw-in bed liner. You can see your AC adapter, LED lighting. For the cabin,
we're going to have four sets of tie-downs. Back here for the tailgate, you can see you have a
nice little mat for a workspace, good spot for measurements. As you see, you have like a yard
stick or whatnot. As far as the step, I'm liking this over what we get in the Ram 1500s, but I do
think that GM does a lot better with their integrated tailgate step. However, that is an
option. Here, it's going to be standard on the F-150 Platinum. So as you see, the stick pops
right up. It helps you access the step, pull your way right inside, really nice. And as you see,
we're all going to have an additional camera, which can function as a trailer mirror. So if
you're towing a trailer, you can see right over it with your rear view mirror. We can hop our way
out of here. I'll try to show you guys the process overall. Pretty convenient with this stick. But
again, the GM trucks also have a stick. It's just not quite in as convenient of a location. And this
is going to be tough to do with one hand because you got to push this button in and drop the step
simultaneously. We figured it out. You have to do the stick before the step because I'll show
you right here. So, okay. So we're going to make this a lot longer of a process than it needs to
be because this is my first time doing this, but boom. And to put the tailgate back up,
not too tough overall. As we mentioned, we are going to get the EcoBoost badge. So
let's take a squat back here and hear how this 3.5 liter EcoBoost sounds.
All right, guys. That was of course the sound of the 3.5 liter twin turbo EcoBoost sold by Ford
for this F-150. And in this application, it makes a lot of power. Expect around 400 horsepower,
500 pound feet of torque. Enough to get this truck to 60 in the low five second range. So
really impressive performer. The garbage truck picked a great time to drive by.
We'll power through it. Here you have it. As I mentioned, 400 horsepower, 500 torque.
Here you have your intake ducts with a funnel that will absorb some cold air. As you see,
it's a pretty humid day right now. So there's going to be a little bit of moisture inhaled
by this turbocharged engine. But anyway, we can shut this thing up, take another step back,
really dig in the front styling. I wish the daytime morning lights were on for you guys right now,
but not a big deal. We'll hop out into the interior and see what this 2022 F-150 Platinum
is really all about. And again, we're going to have smart access for the driver and a front
passenger. A stitching, orange contrast stitching with some suede Alcantara beneath it. Really
premium door handle, genuine wood accents with some aluminum around it. Three person memory seats
to lock and unlock. Power one touch for the driver and the front passenger. No power one touch the
rear. You can expect that in the limited trim, I guess. You can have the power folding mirrors,
as we mentioned too. Door handle is going to be right here so you can open it up. Very good
weight resistance. Very unique too. You don't see that on any other truck but the F-150. The armrest,
very soft. We're going to have that orange contrast stitching beneath it. Extra storage.
One of your 18 speakers for your Bang & Olufsen sound system. Absolutely ludicrous sound system.
Probably the best that I've heard in my life. Storage down here. You can easily fit a foot
long, maybe fit two. You can probably definitely fit two foot longs and 12 ounce can in the side.
Not the most space for a cup or a cup holder because again, it's going to be square,
but a 12 ounce should be able to fit with no issues whatsoever. On the platinum trim, we're
going to have these power running boards too. Really convenient and they open as soon as you
open up the latch on the door and they close within five to maybe six seconds of shutting
the door once we step inside. We'll see that in one second. More illuminated aluminum platinum
badging. Really premium touch. The seats, they're going to be heated and cooled. For the platinum,
we're going to have the badging right here with some orange suede contrast perforated leather
seats, heated and cooled, as we mentioned, pretty supportive, not the most supportive,
kind of expected with a full-size truck, but the bolsters are very, very nice and the leather is
going to continue for the back portion of the seat, similar to the Ram 1500 Longhorn Limited
Edition that we reviewed. But stepping inside this F-150 Platinum, we can really check it out.
And the first thing we notice is all these screens. We're going to have a 12 inch touchscreen. We're
going to have a massive, massive digital display. And you heard those power running boards fold
right back in. That scared the crap out of me the first time it happened, but we're getting used
to it as we go along. As far as the steering wheel, it's going to be pretty thick, pretty large
too. I'm liking the feel for the fingers, very soft leather, decent 10 and 2 bolstering notch.
We don't get that with most of the competition in this segment. 9 and 3 feels pretty good in
your hands. I am liking the steering wheel overall. Additional spoke down here should
help you when it comes to driving reckless. If you want to have your arm on your lap,
these spokes are pretty nice for driving with your hand on your arm, elbow on your armrest.
Volume controls are on the left side, cruise control settings also on the left side. The
right side is going to be controlling the screen up front. Radar cruise control, of course, lane
keep assist and your voice commands. As far as the horn, pretty nice rubberized material. I'm
liking this aluminum texture outside of the horn area. As far as the horn itself, really aggressive
sounding horn, people will 100% be out of your way. Another platinum little badge beneath. But
as far as this gauge display, we'll check it out right here. So it's adjusted based on these
buttons. Right now we're looking at the torque split. We have the vehicle in two wheel drive
high, so there's not going to be much of a torque split. You can see your engine hours,
seatbelt information and your driver's assistance. We can head back and see what else is offered. So
we also get the towing information. Towing allows us to see things such as the trailer information,
trailer tire info, trailer light status, towing status and driving assistance. But anyway,
we'll see what else we have. We could also have a heads up navigation screen. That's a pretty nice
touch. My home, previous destinations, POI nearby, and all that. Phone settings, audio,
overall vehicle settings. I guess we can just go through, see what would be able to be adjusted.
Configure gauges. That's cool. You can swap gauge position, left select gauge, right select gauge.
Pretty interesting. Speedo, you can make it KPH, eco coach, border crossing. Okay, I'm going to
have to click on that one. Okay, so reminder. So when you're about to cross the border, you get a
little heads up. Okay, pretty cool. My mind's in the wrong place when it comes to that. But anyway,
we have my view, fuel economy. You can see that at all times. You can see the trip information and
the configurable screen. You can see the trip slash fuel. Here you can have fuel economy,
trip one, trip two, eco behavior, and all that. But let's click on fuel economy real quick. Nope.
Boom. Okay. So this is the screen that we were just at. We can pop out of here. And that's about
it. So on the left side, we have our digitally illuminated RPM gauge tachometer. You can see
exactly what rev you're currently on on the left side. Pretty cool touch. Same thing on the right
when it comes to the speedometer. You can see what the speed limit is. So it kind of gives you a
little notch that says, okay, on this road, this is as fast as you should be going. But pretty cool
on top, you get the coolant temperature, oil life, you have the transmission temperature and the gas
level of the vehicle. On the bottom, we have the temperature outside song currently playing
compass and miles, total miles on the truck. But that's about it. As far as the stocks on the left
this truck, we're going to have our lighting and wiper controls, rain sensing wipers, of course,
pretty satisfying click, not the most satisfying, but still more than good enough. On the left side,
we have our power folding mirrors, tailgate drop. We have on this side, we have our tailgate
lighting, bed lighting, fog lights, automatic high beams. You can have your electronic parking
brake pedal adjustments, interior brightness, power, tilt and telescoping steering wheel.
You can take a look at your pedals down over there. And trunk latch is going to be on the corner
down there. As far as the dashboard, everything's gonna be the soft touch material with stitching.
The upper top part over here is going to be a harder plastic with this tray,
but not a big deal. Of course, right here, you can see a banging Olsen, little
badging, liking the dashboard overall, the designs outside of your air vents.
The screen is really where the interior is going to really be impressive. We're going to have the
plastic screen with the caution and red tape. So don't mind that. Pretty impressive overall,
that you can see the eco behavior, deceleration, speed, acceleration, driver, massage, passenger,
we can make our way to the audio. You can see what songs currently playing the eco behavior stays.
So there's the interior temperature time and the temperature outside.
Up top, we have the four facing camera, parking assist, hazards,
traction, traction control, which you can disable and the hill descent control
phones controls down here. Navigation. As far as the map, we can take a look at it.
Okay, no, we can't. So, but it's still really, really responsive. If you want to zoom out,
I guess you can get rid of that other screen. Really, really responsive. Definitely a thumbs
up. This is one of the best touchscreens in the business. Hands down. You can see your favorites.
You can see your apps, overall settings. You have Apple CarPlay and Android auto,
of course, vehicle settings here. You can adjust things such as 30 minute max idle.
So after 30 minutes, this vehicle is just going to shut off. If all you're doing is idling remote
start wipers, power tailgate, pretty cool settings features. You can take a look at them right here.
Running board zone, lighting, towing, and driver assist. You can control all that here.
My personal favorite to look at is just the nav looking at map at all times beneath that. Well,
as we mentioned, we're going to have the forward facing camera. You can press this button. This is
what's right in front of us and you get a 360. So you can see if you're perfectly parked in your
lane or not. We currently are not, but good enough. Pretty impressive screens overall.
Really liking the screens. You can press the button one more time. It goes right back to
where it was automatic parking. Of course, we're not going to demonstrate that here.
So really good features. Trailer pro controller. We're going to have the wood accents continued
textured aluminum beneath over here. Trailer brake controller, drive mode select when it
comes to the four by four engine start stop. Really nice buttons. I'm digging this interior,
really premium looking truck guys. Volume knob, very satisfying click. Here you have all your
settings, heated and cooled seats, heated steering wheel, vent controls. If you're not an automatic
climate control kind of guy like me, power or wireless charging pad, USB and USB-C right next
to it. More storage, pretty cool spots. You can close this thing up simply by pushing it. And
we're going to have more wood trim, grained wood with a nice shiny aluminum accents too.
The 12 volt on this side is going to be a good spot for radar tech. The wire cord's not going
to be hanging too badly and you get a AC adapter as well. So pretty convenient when it comes to
the job site. As far as the glove boxes, you can press this button. It opens up your first glove
box. Pretty good spot for gloves, car accessories. You probably fit a pair of shoes in there too.
Pretty spacious. Down here, we're going to have the big glove box. It's not going to be damped
or lined with felt. It's not even that big actually, but you can probably fit a few license
plates. I don't think it's deep enough to fit license plates, but as far as shoes, you should
easily be able to fit a pair. Anyway, back here, we're going to have the hideaway gear selector.
Of course, you can put it into reverse. We can check out the backup camera. Similar to the front,
really good resolution. And we also get the 360 as well. You put it back into drive. As far as
the manual shift controls are going to be right here on the left. And we can put it back into
park. You press this button and the shifter just disappears. So it allows you to have a nice flat
area. And now with the shifter completely folded away, it will allow for the foldable work surface.
However, this truck's not going to be equipped with it. You can see as far as the center console,
we're going to have that really nice suede material with the platinum in the middle.
I'm liking the orange stitching too. Back here, you have two additional cup holders, but again,
no button to open up the foldable work surface. I was looking for that for quite a while.
I may be missing something, so leave it in the comment section. If I am, however,
it's not going to be the same way as other F-150s. To open up this console,
simply open it up with that latch. Massive, massive storage area. You can probably fit a
bowling ball, maybe two bowling balls. Really impressive storage area. You probably get four
pairs of shoes. You can also probably get three, maybe four iPhone Pro Max's in that cubby. So
really, really impressive amount of space. We're also getting this massive moonroof,
panoramic two-piece moonroof. You can open it up right here just by pressing the button
and it opens up on the bottom. It kind of has two senses, a pickup truck. There's really no
room back there for a roof to be hanging off, but it opens up pretty far. It opens up even
farther than that. Wow. This is one of the most impressive moonroofs I've seen in the business.
This is a really massive opening. It goes all the way into the second row area.
The entire first row is going to be completely open. We could poke our way out of here. It's
a pretty nice day right now in Tampa, Florida. Sunny and 60 degrees. Not too sunny, but nice
enough. It's not going to be raining today. To close it up, you simply click it one time. It's
going to close completely on the first try. Nice. We'll leave the shade open so you guys get a good
sense of the light coming into the cabin when we hop out into the back seat. Up top over here,
we're going to have a sunglass holder, more lighting controls, LED lighting for the cabin.
It's on right now for some reason. We could turn it off. Garage home link settings,
all your warnings up top. I mentioned that the mirror is going to be aided with a camera out
rear, but it's not. We're not going to have a latch back here to activate the camera mirror,
unfortunately, but that's all going to be seen through your 12 inch infotainment screen.
Since we have a 18 speaker system to check out, we have speakers in the A-pillar right above our
heads. This is definitely the best sound system I've ever heard in my life. It's aided because
we have such a quiet interior. The windshield is going to be a sound screen. The windows for the
front seats are going to be dual pane, really thick dual pane windows. Really impressive front
seat area. Let's hop out back, see how much space is offered back there, as well as the overall
quality of the materials. All right, guys, before we step in the back seat, now the sun's coming out
a little bit, you should be able to pick up this blue metallic paint color. Really beautiful
sparkles in this Florida sun. Step in inside this F-150 Platinum. Again, the running boards pop right
out for you. Super soft touch for the upper part. Stitching beneath that too. Suede Alcantara down
here as well. Very soft armrest. Same type of grab handle. No dual pane windows you guys can
see right here. Just a very thick single pane, wood accents, square cup holders. Pretty solid
storage down here too. Easily fit in foot longs. Probably get a 16 ounce cup. Another one of your
18 banging all of some speakers. No platinum nameplates. Not a really big deal as far as the
seats. Really nice. They're not going to be really bolstered, so you're going to be sliding around
back here. It's basically just a bench seat in the rear. More of that suede orange accents around
your platinum badge. Soft headrest. You have your fifth window back there. I didn't show you guys
how to open it up. Once you take it out for a drive, I'll show you how to do it. Anyway, beneath
these seats, you can open this up back here. You have some secret storage and you can open this
and it allows people. We have to open up that seat too. It's going to be pretty tough reach,
but okay. Let's see what we can do with this. We open it up and now we have more. You can fit a
bunch of tools. People are really, really liking. Look at that squatted truck. I know Whistle and
Diesel would appreciate that, but we can open this up. We have some additional storage perfect
for groceries. You can also fit some groceries back there. Ford really thought it through.
This is a super, super practical truck. As far as the space, let's hop inside. We're not going
to have floor mats. We took the floor mats out for the purpose of this review. They're currently
sitting right there, so we're going to be careful when it comes to dirtying everything up. It's
still super spacious. I have a foot of legroom. Leather back here. We're not going to have the
saddles like we do on the Longhorn Limited Edition, but if you want the Southwest theme,
you can always go for the King Ranch, which is just going to be costing about $1,000, maybe $2,000
below the Platinum. Cup holders are accessible back here. We have heated rear seats, 12-volt.
We have an AC adapter back here if we can figure out how to open this, boom, and USB and USB-Cs.
Pretty nice. It would be nice to get a third zone climate for the Platinum trim, but
still nice to get vents, heated seats. You have just about everything you would ever need.
As far as the view, check it out. This is a massive, massive moonroof. It really brings
some well-needed light into this F-150 cabin. Truly beautiful truck, beautiful interior.
Really, really loving it, but that's about it for the inside and outside on this 2022 F-150 Platinum.
Let's take it out for a drive. All right, guys, now that we've just about seen everything we
need to see with the inside and outside of this all-new 2022 F-150 Platinum, let's take it out
for a drive, see if we can figure out where to put that seatbelt. We can pop this gear selector
right out, put it into drive. Okay, a little tricky. And get started with this
test drive. And first thing I notice is the car rolls very fast when you just let off the brake.
So when I just got into this truck, I was thinking that I might've been in
the power boost because it has the electric boost off the line. Well, it's definitely not
a big deal once you get used to it. Taking a step out here, lean into about a third of the way.
Oh, wow, the torque is just ridiculous in this truck. You get to speeds unbelievably quickly.
It takes you to about 3,500 RPM. We got a red light right here. Should give us a good opportunity
to see how this truck can accelerate off the line. Kind of slurring my words here, but okay.
Off the line, half throttle. Oh, once the boost kicks in, you have a little bit of
chirp in the tires, actually. We have to lean off it because we don't want to be a little bit
reckless in this residential area. Wow, a lot of power. We'll try it out in four-wheel drive auto,
see if the power gets put down a little bit better because this vehicle, again, has 500
foot-pounds of torque. You're sending that just to the rear wheels where there really isn't that
much weight back there. You can expect things to get a little bit squirrely at times, but we'll
try that out right here. We have an empty road. We'll throw it into a four-wheel drive auto
and off the line. Oh, strong. Wow.
Yeah, we get to speeds. This is by far the fastest truck in the segment. This isn't even
the most powerful engine option for the Ford F-150. We also have the power boost,
which is going to include a hybrid platform. I could only imagine what that truck feels like.
Also, since this has the 3.5-liter V6, fully aluminum construction, this is also going to be
the lightest truck in the segment. When it comes to the way that it feels going around corners,
the steering is right on center, almost as on center as the GM trucks. I still think the GM
trucks have a little bit more on-center feel, but still right on the gas halfway.
Great torque. Again, since this is a lightweight vehicle, we could throw it in
right here. It stays pretty flat. You can feel a little bit of body roll,
about the same body roll as the Ram, maybe a little bit less, but it feels lighter. It
changes directions much quicker. The F-150 definitely feels small. It feels smaller than
the Ram with no question. It feels smaller than the Ram, but it doesn't feel quite as small as
the GM trucks we reviewed. We reviewed the AT4 when it comes to the GMC Sierra. We reviewed the
Trail Boss when it comes to the Silverado. Both of those trucks having two-inch lift,
much beefier tires than this F-150, and it still felt like it handled a little bit sharper when
it went through the turns. It had a little bit more limited body roll, a little bit less body
roll than this F-150. This F-150 doesn't have a lot of body roll, and compared to the Ram,
you definitely feel more bumps with no question. The leaf spring setup compared to the Ram's full
shock absorber and damper springs, whatever setup, is much, much superior when it comes to ride
quality, whereas this, I do feel like it limits body roll a little bit better than the Ram.
Not quite as well as the Silverado or the Sierra, but it still limits body roll very well when it
comes to a full-size truck. Where this truck really shines is the sound isolation. You hear
just about nothing. You hear the bumps a little bit because the vehicle does rattle around. We
got those floor mats sitting back there. But as far as wind noise, these dual-pin windows and
sunscreen windshield do an absolutely fantastic job. I'll throw in the POV camera, try to give
you guys a firsthand look driving this truck, and I'll catch back with you in one second.
All right, guys, stepping out here from a firsthand point of view, you can really see
how those screens look in real time. Not a lot of space in these roads, but taking a step out,
pretty smooth process overall. Very good acceleration. I do feel like when you put it
into a four-wheel drive auto, you are going to have a little bit less low-end torque. You're
going to have more power loss through the drivetrain, but not that much. Right here,
we're going to have a speed bump. You can see how this vehicle stays composed over it.
Boom, very smooth, very composed.
See that rough stretch of pavement? It handles over it really well. You do feel a little bit,
but it's really still very, very luxurious. This truck definitely has very good ride quality.
Looks like we have a little highway coming up. Should give us a good opportunity to see how
this truck can accelerate in regular conditions. Right here on the gas.
Yeah, this thing just really moves, guys. We don't have to push it a whole lot farther than that.
Definitely the fastest motor in the segment when it comes to comparing between the Ram 5.7 Hemi
and GM's, both the 5.3 and 6.2. I feel like if you raced the 6.2 with this truck with its 500 pound
feet of torque, I think this truck has the edge. It would be nice to see a race between those two
because the GMC truck is also fantastic. With a 6.2 motor, it's a really, really fast truck,
but you're not going to get nearly as good a fuel economy. This truck can get around 16,
17 miles per gallon combined, maybe even 18 with good driving, and you're just probably
not getting that with the 6.2 Silverado or Sierra. Just cruising along on this highway,
we're going to be, since we have a 10-speed automatic transmission, we're going to be very
low in the rev range. We're just basically idling at 1,000 RPM. Very quiet back here,
super quiet. You hear just about zero wind noise. Take a listen.
Silent. It's almost as if we're not even moving how quiet this truck is.
Truly, truly impressive. All right, guys, right here, we have concrete pavement when it comes
to the road. Shouldn't be very good when it comes to sound isolation, but we'll hear the road noise
right here. All we hear are those floor mats flying around back there. Super quiet truck.
And the torque, you're not going to be fishing for torque. It does take a second to get the
boost to kick in off the line, but once you have a rolling start, by the time the transmission down
shifts, you're going to be fully, fully in your power band. Other than that, though, that's about
it. Huge thank you to Elder Ford here in Tampa, Florida, for making this review possible.
Really kind staff. Unbelievable dealership. Definitely check out their inventory. They
have a ton of cars, as well as modified vehicles. They have Roush. They have Shelby. They have
Raptors. They have SVTs. Really cool dealership. Really cool staff. Definitely suggest checking
these guys out if you're looking for a new car or truck in the Tampa area. Other than that, though,
thank you so much for watching. I had a great time making this video. If you're new to this channel,
please subscribe. If you've already subscribed, thank you so much. You guys know I have endless
gratitude for all the subscribers. The channel is just not possible without you guys, and I really
have a huge appreciation for each and every one of you. Again, though, if you haven't subscribed
yet, please subscribe. Leave a like, too. It really helps me out with the YouTube algorithm.
That's how these videos get promoted to new people. Leave a comment. Let me know what you
don't like. Leave a comment. Let me know if there's any specific vehicles you'd like to see
reviewed in this channel, too. It's a little bit low on inventory right now, so it's really,
really tough for me to get exactly what I would want. Still, leave your suggestions, and I'll try
to get those videos for you ASAP. I'm definitely trying to get the new Mach-E because I know a lot
of you guys keep wanting to see it. Again, we're at the Ford dealership right now, and it's just
not available. I'm going to try to get you guys the Accord Hybrid soon because I've been seeing
that in the comments section a lot, too. I'm definitely going to be working on it. I'm going
to try to get these videos for you as soon as possible. It's just with these inventory shortages,
it can be really tough to get the exact cars that I want. It's basically like I just take
whatever I get. Other than that, guys, again, thank you so much for watching, and have a great day.
