not gonna be using a Leica today Today we're gonna be shooting With old tech This is an iPhone 4 iPhone 4 is So much more Than just another new product 5 megapixel camera High def video recording For 2010 this is gonna change everything These are really Not very good cameras By any means I'm here with Steven But the whole point of today Is to see How important is the tool you're using And how important is the photographer For god's sake it's so slow It's Steven's idea he's been running a series And there's some more videos of this nature Which you can check out on his channel Which we'll link to I don't know how it works We're gonna have some fun today There's a saying that The best camera in the world Is the one that you have on you But in this case I have a Leica on me But I'm using size for me We've had our first Dead phone of the day As you can probably imagine An iPhone 4 And phones of this era Are quite limited when it comes to battery I started using this In the lobby And it had 80% So an essential If you want to try this yourself Is carrying It defeats the point of a phone That's this big You got to use that charging cable This cable is taking me back We had to buy it Regardless of device So obviously being able to shoot On one of these is amazing But this thing I've just looked it up It's 5 megapixels Pictures taken with a 5 megapixel camera Look amazing And we even have an LED flash So you can take photos in low light This thing is M11 monochrome 60 megapixel full frame And obviously these lenses are absolutely awesome And I can't say the same About this one From what I've seen so far It should still hold A good photographer should be able to make a good picture Regardless of what tool that they're using And I think that this Has a camera And that for me is enough Reminds me of the Top Gear show The star in a reasonably priced car Well looking smooth So you're the Stig then I'm more like Jeremy Clarkson to be honest So I'm trying to get some elevation Just to get him nicely framed Within the road So here's one of the shots You know what I enjoy that So lifting the camera high We're using the strip Of the road itself Because it's bright To highlight your head I'm finding out that the iPhone 4 Obviously has a very slow shutter speed Because I'm guessing the ISO technology Wasn't very good at the time It's just a detail That you have to get used to If you're going to take pictures With the phone like this Smells really good here It's like fresh Let's go to Into Harajuku It's a cool shot in cars Like with the city going past I've been to Tokyo I think this is my fifth time now Every time I come here It's magic Especially for a western photographer Good friend of mine here Ryota Was saying we had a long conversation About how he loves shooting in London And I love taking pictures here Once you're so used to the place That you've grown up It's actually harder I think To be inspired And to see certain shots Here's my list of Japanese phrases My favorite Here we go, first person shooting In Harajuku Let's go, let's go We've got to wait for someone To come in the frame Who's interesting And luckily we're in Harajuku And you can put the music From Jaws underneath this You're gonna need a bigger camera Is that even a reverse camera The iPhone 4 is keeping up It's got like a bit of a Half a second lag Over the course of that I've started Learning how to adjust for that I feel you're finding the right people to shoot too Like do you look for the person as you're walking So you're not just randomly shooting You're waiting till that right person comes And then sneaking in The camera's a bit limited for this kind of Super fast shooting Not bad Let's keep going Just trying to wait for a gap in the crowd To try and have an area Where I can isolate someone It's not easy with this many people That was close You got it Not really But I still said would these dresses look good on me Which is the reason for the video
