This city is known for vibrant souks, architecture with intricate tile work, and UNESCO World
Heritage Sites.
Welcome to Marrakesh.
Hello everyone, my name is Jalyn.
I'm a travel and lifestyle creator based in New York City, and in this video, I'll
be taking you guys along our adventure through Marrakesh.
We landed at the Marrakesh airport and took a quick 10-minute taxi ride over to our hotel
where we stayed for the next four nights.
Alright, here is the room tour.
You walk in, there's the bar area.
To the right is the bathroom.
There's a nice standing shower, tub, and the toilet.
Here is the bedroom.
We got the garden suite, I think.
No, garden room.
Garden bedroom.
This is a king-size bed.
We have our TV here.
Have a huge walk-in closet.
We have a balcony with a seating area.
And here is the view of the stunning property.
There's two restaurants right here.
Look how pretty it is.
The spa's over there, and then the pool.
The next morning, we took a taxi out to a meeting point to meet our tour guide, Hamza,
to do a sidecar tour.
The company offers many different itineraries depending on how much time you have.
I'll be sure to link the company below.
He gave us a rundown of all the places we were going to see, and he also asked if there
were specific places that we wanted to stop at.
He was very flexible.
We got to stop and take some pictures and just take in the sights.
And overall, it was such a fun experience.
After riding around a maze-like medina, we stopped at this briyad to relax a little bit
and have some Moroccan tea.
We drank so much tea this trip.
It is so addicting.
After enjoying some tea, we were back on our sidecars and off to explore the Pomeray, which
is described as the Beverly Hills of Marrakesh.
This whole area was so cool.
It kind of reminded me of Palm Springs and Joshua Tree.
So we just got back from our three-hour tour with Hamza.
We did a sidecar tour, which we got to explore within the medina.
We went to the Palm Grove, which he said was similar to Palm Springs, and next to it is
like a national park.
It looks just like Joshua Tree, so Palm Springs and Joshua Tree, just kind of similar.
It was so nice, except there were camels.
And then we went through the medina, drove through it, and now we are back at the Four
Seasons having dinner right now and then figure out our plans for tomorrow.
We want to do the Agafe Desert because we only have two days left in Marrakesh, so we'll see.
The next day, we made our way over to Jemaa al-Fana, which is a UNESCO World Heritage
Site and the main square of Marrakesh.
We met up with a tour guide and he brought us around the medina.
It is like a maze in there, super easy to get lost, but he took us around, showed us
all the different restaurants and places to see all of the spices.
We made our way over to Madrassa bin Yusuf, which is a historic Islamic school built in
the 14th century and now also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The architecture here is so stunning with intricate tilework and carvings.
Okay, so we're currently on a walking tour right now around the medina and we are walking
through the souks right now, seeing all the different spices, the clothes, and all the
small trinkets that you can buy.
We're just at a rooftop right now of one of the shops.
We went to the bin Yusuf school.
We couldn't get to go to the Bahia Palace because they're closed for film production,
which I'm so sad about.
And yeah, we're just going to explore the rest of this area and I'll take you guys along.
We ended our tour having tea on top of a rooftop overlooking the square and as you can see,
during sunset is when it truly comes alive.
All the street vendors are out and everyone's just enjoying the nightlife.
It's officially our last day here in Marrakesh.
Our trip was super short.
We decided to do one last tour out to Agafai Desert.
There were a bunch of tours around.
You can ride ATVs, you can visit camels, they even have glamping available if you wanted
to stay in the desert itself.
We drove by this really random Saint Laurent sign so we stopped there and took some pictures.
And then for lunch he brought us to this restaurant on top of this really steep hill with a ton
of steps.
Here we go.
But the short trek was definitely worth it because when you get to the top, the views
are just so stunning.
Good morning.
Today is our official last day in Marrakesh.
We are in the Agafai Desert right now and we've just been exploring this area.
We did a tour so we're doing, I think after this we're going up to the Atlas Mountains
and then we're going to one of the lakes.
Stopped off at a restaurant in the middle of the desert called the Dune Restaurant.
We had to walk up some steep steps to get up here but it's so cute in here.
We're just having some Moroccan tea and some fruits right now before we continue the rest
of the tour.
I definitely wish we had more time to explore Morocco because there was a lot of cities
that I wish I got to see, especially when we were in Rabat.
I wanted to explore Shefchaouen, the blue city, and then Fez which is where the leather
tanneries are, and then Tangier which is up north that looks super pretty as well.
And then also in Marrakesh we could have done, if we had more time, we could have done the
Sahara Desert tour because it takes about like 10 hours just to drive there and people
usually do like a couple days just to kind of make some stops along the way and then
explore the desert, stay overnight, and just get that full experience.
So the difference between the Agafai Desert is that it's only 40 minutes away from Marrakesh
and it's not sandy, it's more rocky so the terrain is a lot different from the Sahara
but it's still really nice.
And that pretty much wraps up our three and a half-ish days in Marrakesh.
