Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano vs Igor Gorgonzola Novara | Italian Volleyball LVF SerieA1 2024/2025 | Semifinals Round 1 (22.03.2025)
A little bit too tight and that's the next best thing to an ace serve to get the overpass that
can get put away at the net. Let's move on and try and work the side out. So we'll hear a lot
of cambio pala being said in timeouts which is Italian but side out. This is free ball,
no it isn't, oh that's a massive throw down from Juting. Juting is locked in, she's so disciplined.
Good defense Ishikawa. Can there be a break point back early for Navara? Yes there can.
Well played Alzmaier. Maybe make a good couple defensive plays. That's another good dig.
Defense is working for Navara at the moment.
Well that will do it. Volosh finds Kira Keller through the middle. She's now established.
Yes they're the best ace serves. There's nothing you can do about it particularly
when you've got that huge gap in front of the frontcourt swing. It's a message to serve.
Excellent work from Gabby. Gabby can be an outlet when they're in system, when they're out of system,
when the pass is to the net, it doesn't matter. They're running her through the back row
as elite as they come. That's an interesting point that Madison makes about Juting. For those
of you that are wanting to be good at volleyball, I wouldn't watch Juting, I'd watch Ishikawa.
And I say that with no disrespect to Juting but if you're not the same height that does that
as that challenge. The 21 plays 13. It might be 22-13 here.
Oh it won't be though. That's a great block. Aleksic shuts down Gabby already so they'll
have everybody where they want to be in attack here. But it's into transition, a swing for the
set. The inside 10 and it's done. Caneliano wrap up set one 25-17.
Here we go with set number two. Caneliano taking the first set
for Navarro with a very nice side out start for the opening point. With grace and
you don't take it for granted. You give it its utmost respect. Kachikurai famously said the
easiest ball is the one that he focuses the most hardest on to make sure that it's played properly.
It can be so often the case. It's a high risk high reward indeed.
Sensible swing from Juting. Another opportunity here for Caneliano.
That is a wonderful pickup by Bossio. Down ball for Caneliano. Now it's Navarro have
the advantage. Can they capitalize? Yes they can. Well played Ishikawa. Beautiful blocked touch by Navarro.
Yet again Caneliano reducing Navarro's options to the wings
and they profit from it. They know that Bossio wants to set the middle of the
and gets herself an ace. That dropped so quickly. And that's what a float serve does. It dips, it
dives, it moves so much from when you contact it. Lorenzo Bernardi. Navarro looking for this side out.
They can make it but Moki's in the way of that swing from Ishikawa. A bit of a scramble now though.
Oh what a block. What a block that is. It looked as if Navarro might well take the point.
To the line. Lovely. Really fast swing from Gabi. Changing the rhythm. Navarro targeting Gabi in reception
but going with the movement of the ball and you're right it creates a tempo set situation.
Good touch from Vos. Oh that's too close. Oh no. Oh poor old Sarah Farslight. I've got this,
I've got this on my chance to be a setter. For Caneliano. Xu Qing taking a rest. Good up.
It's got to be free ball for Caneliano. Couldn't quite get the inside 10 to work. It's still a
scramble now. It's a better free ball. That's such a good set. Vos looked like she was going to go behind.
You watch her shoulder line and then the way she gets back to where she wants to go
fires it out to four. She's so deceptive. The opposing defense just. Mims will serve again.
That's a lovely block. If Caneliano think that Navarro just going to give this up.
With it as you rightly said Madison going into set number three which is a must win set.
Caneliano then getting it done in the end. They take it back to traditional rotation one.
It's Caneliano looking for two nothing and getting it. Snatched at it by Xu Qing.
Ryan dig that up. That's difficult. Good ball by Vecino. Sensible from Xu Qing makes the adjustment.
Invites Navarro to have another go and they're not going to make it. That is the tallest block
pretty much on that side of the court. Xu Qing and Kira Keller together. Good pass. Trying to force
that quarter pin of the block. Although Xu Qing says didn't touch her. Kira Keller plays on because it did
cut touch her and so Navarro have the side out. Gabby again going with the power tip but it's red by Navarro.
Milani can't find the angle she needs. Gabby with work to do but now advantage Navarro.
Another opportunity. More options and it works. Navarro starts to make unforced errors.
Well watched. That's a very good touch by Squaccini. She knew that middle was coming.
She knows how Boas reacts and a good pickup as well by her on the angle.
Squaccini doing her absolute best to try and keep that ball in play.
In the end it's Caneliano who ends up with it. Where to even begin? Okay they're very disciplined
so the timing is perfect. Really difficult to beat. And that is a monster block going the other side
against Farr and Hock. Lovely. Squaccini goes past Kira Keller as if she wasn't there because she
wasn't where she needed to be. Vos really forcing that ball back towards the antenna and Xu Qing
does the rest. Still match. Second chance and Gabby finishes it all off. Caneliano take the set
25-13. They've won the match by three sets to nothing and that puts them one match to nothing up
in this best of five match series for a place in the final.
