“If you ever question my commitment to Man United, that’s when I have to speak up. It’s like somebody questioning my entire identity, and everything I stand for as a man.”

Right there, the facts.
I can't have people questioning my commitment to Man United.
It's, to me and to my family, it's ridiculous.
I always say to them, if you put yourself in my shoes, would you respond to lies 24-7?
Like, stuff that gets written about me, like 90% of it is false.
The most recent thing in the media was more of that.
To me, it's not new.
To my family, it winds them up a little bit.
They want the publicity.
They want the attraction.
They want people talking about anything as long as it's got their name in it.
And a lot of the stories that I see about me is pretty much that.
You know, there's one or two facts about the situation,
and the rest, someone's just gone off on their own
and continue to guess what a night out or a day with me would look like.
And it's difficult to stop them from doing that,
but my thing is, I don't want people to be fickle and question stuff about me
that, in my opinion, they should already know.
The problem is, is when people start to believe him,
it's being pushed that, oh, you're unprofessional, you're this, you're that.
He goes out too much, he got too many tattoos.
Whatever it is, it's when the public start to believe what they're reading.
That's where the issue comes in, and that's where it makes me a bit upset
that they are allowed to basically just paint a picture of someone whenever they want.
Write the facts, and then don't carry on.
The story's not big enough with the facts.
That's what the problem is.
It's funny to me, if they understood the path that I've been on and the journey,
deals and contracts that we've said no to,
compared to the deals that we've said yes to from United,
and now all of a sudden, oh, he's a money grabber.
Like, no, no, no, no, let's go back to when it started.
I'm very comfortable in how I've handled my career from the beginning,
even from before then, from probably 10, 11.
I've been very much in control with my family of where we wanted to go.
I've always just said, if we do get there, if we do make it and play for Man United,
I want to be able to look you in the eyes and say, you've not changed.
I want you to be able to look me in the eyes and say, I have not changed.
That was one of the biggest things in me growing up.
With all that's going on and all the talk, I still go home,
and the most important thing to me is winning the next game.
It seems to get crowded through the media speaking about X, Y and Z,
but to me, it remains the most important thing, the match day.
So, yeah, if I don't feel like I'm there yet,
we have to find a way to get there,
because I feel like we have got a stronger team than what people like to put out there.
Everyone can have bad days,
but the thing that we still haven't got is the consistency of winning back-to-back.
That's obviously still a big dream of mine, to win the Premier League for Man United.
I don't want to waste time.
As we know this year, it's obviously unlikely,
but when this happens, the only thing that happens in my head is,
what's the next best thing that we can get out of this year?
First, winning the FA Cup, and then second, getting top four.
So that's what we're aiming for, and that's why I'm pushing today.
