How's it going everybody? I'm Nikki Delventhal and this is my dog Camper Delventhal.
We lived in a Prius full-time for three years but now we're in a 4x4 Sprinter
and we're here to take you along on the wild ride. So fasten up your seat belts and let's
have some fun. Don't forget if you like what you see, like, subscribe, comment,
share with your friends and turn on notifications. Camper and I would be so thankful.
On last week's episode, Camper and I start our morning waking up at a beautiful lakefront camp
spot and taking a dip. After breakfast, we hit the trail to get some exercise and beautiful views of
the area. Being close to Bend, Oregon, we went to Smith Rock for a hike and topped it off with
the famous ocean roll and some shopping at a local market. Good morning everyone! We are back in
Northern California, not just because it is an amazing place to explore but because we have a
very special guest moving into the van with us all week. So with that being said, we are at the
airport so let's go grab him. Oh I cannot wait to see Grandpa but it is gonna be tight in here.
Go say hi! Oh my gosh!
Hi! You made it! Oh so good to see you. We're gonna have so much fun this week. Oh yeah.
All right, who's ready for a road trip?
I am. I am. Let's do it. I traveled far and wide for a Nicky D adventure.
It is a full house today. Whoa. Yeah, I guess a lot of people have the same idea as us.
Are you ready to explore the lake? Me too and this is no ordinary lake. It is mind-blowing.
You ready? Oh yeah.
First stop on the agenda, we are tuning in from Mono Lake. Now Mono Lake is gigantic, stretching
65 square miles but that's not the standout of the lake. The first thing you'll notice
is as you walk in there are all these tufa towers is what they call them. I would say the best way
to describe it is like baking soda. So you have the calcium that's coming through in the
freshwater springs and then you have the carbonate from the lake water and boom you got yourself a
tower. So the water feels super soapy and the reason for that is the high salt content. Now
Mono Lake has two to three times more salt than the ocean so I imagine if we go in we'll kind of
be like bobbing around like a cork. If we go in? When we go in we'll be bobbing around like a cork.
But before we go in I also have to tell you this place is fascinating. It is home to trillions of
brine shrimp. This is the only place in the entire world you will find this species and
because there's trillions of them that brings millions of birds migrating that will eat the
alkaline flies. It's this huge cycle and it is absolutely beautiful.
All right who's ready to go for a dip? Yeah baby I am. Come on the water's drying. Wow all you see is
just tons of shrimp. So cool. That is so cool. The water kind of looks like there's like a film in it.
There's so much salt.
You guys my feet are off the ground. I'm just like bobbing around.
All right no swim is complete without a little butterfly.
An experience you cannot miss if you come here. Barefoot walk back. Get in touch with your barefoot
barefoot barefoot self again.
Home sweet home.
All right let's turn on that shower.
We got some wilderness biodegradable soap wash.
Wash that corrosive salt right out of my hair and send me on my way.
That was amazing. All right dad what do you say we change up and find a place to wild camp for
the night? Oh yeah sounds great. Let's go. Adventure time. Make room for daddy.
Come on in camp. Oh you good boy. All right so I heard of a camp spot about 10 minutes from here
on some dirt roads so I think we're just gonna try it out and see what we find. Time for another
adventure. That was an adventure that was freaking wild. All right we're just gonna back up into this
spot here. All right you guys it's dinner time. What are you in the mood for? Food.
Meatballs? A little bit yeah. Fun. I love the way it closes on them. Strawberries.
Well that's thunder. Yeah that's new.
Well that was kind of terrifying considering we might get stuck in the sand and
you know just having a minor camping attack.
Oh boy. What do you say we set the mood here? How are we gonna do that? I have just the thing.
The LG Stand by Me Go. The Stand by Me Go is portable and convenient. It's easy to carry and
the design is super compact which is great for camping or really any adventure or even in the
home. It's versatile with its flexible stand so it can rotate horizontally and vertically to be
utilized to suit your usage and preferences. One thing that I absolutely love is its advanced
functionality. It's equipped with a built-in battery, touch screens, and speech recognition.
That really enhances the experience. You can use it in so many ways. Some of my favorites being
games with friends or watching movies. And speaking of movies, it is quite the cinematic
experience with its inclusion of Dolby Vision and Atmos four channel 20 watt sound tech.
And last but not least, it even has a mood maker function offering eight mood videos.
If you'd like to learn more about the LG Stand by Me Go, just go to the link in my description below.
All right, who's ready to finish cooking and have some dinner?
Cheers. Masterful. That is so good.
Oh man, can't wait for the rain to let up. Totally gonna catch a squirrel today.
It's gonna be the day. Okay camper, ready? Okay, here you go. Good boy. All right, tell your story.
Yeah, so it was pretty cool. You uh, you grew up camping in a van. Yeah. Yeah. I remember you used
to put a mattress in the back of the minivan and we would just go on these like epic adventures.
Yeah. Dogs, friends, in the back. Let's go. I know. I wonder where it all started.
Yeah, we had our own little nature trail out in the backyard. Easton was woodsy, but we would,
we would hit that nature trail even when you were like, yeah, four or five years old. And every day,
dad, let's go for a walk in the woods. Yeah. Yeah. So if all of you are wondering why I am the way I
am, it's this man right here who would get in vans. He taught me how to name things, family,
like snakes. I don't know who taught me how to name everything. Sarah, that's a problem.
That was cute. And uh, we've always been adventurous and outdoorsy. Always going for
walks outside. We had so many animals and so many dogs. Oh my God. At one point we had six dogs.
Yeah. Yeah. That was cool. Those are some good values. Now you got us started with the dogs.
Yeah, that was me. Uh, we had a date to go to the animal shelter and get a dog
and uh, I drove home. You were waiting in the driveway. Oh, it was so cute. Yeah. I
had like an eight hour sit in. I was like, we're going to get this dog.
All right. We got a little break in the weather. You want to play some fetch? Go boy. Come here.
Sun's up, but I think it's time for bed. Yeah. Maybe we'll get to bed a little early. This
is a camper's platform for when we're driving, but it's also a bed. This is very cool. I know.
Big stretches. I want some coffee and some stretches. All right.
And she's out of there. Oh, it's going to be some strong coffee. I can smell it.
Coffee's ready. Sounds great. Take everything you got.
Cheers. Thank you. Top of the morning. All right, dad, what do you say we change up and
get our pump on? Oh, sure. You can sit there in your living room,
watching your television. Meanwhile, your girlfriend wants to watch me.
Ready? Yeah, baby. Cue the music.
Hey, we're going to pump you up. That's right. All right. Dance warm up. Yeah. Yeah. Loosen it
up, baby. Let's go. Let's get warmed up. Let's get loose. A little stretch. Screw the light bulb.
Hey, other side. Hey, all right. Hey, go church. Go church. Church, yeah. Other way. Other way.
Wow, church is good. All right. Unfair advantage.
We are in an area with a ton of volcanic activity.
So what do you say we go check out a crater? That sounds fantastic. Let's go.
Let's go. Come on, camp. I'm ready to go. Let's hit it. Future trip, I am going to take you guys
up these crater mountains. They are intense and so cool. But today we're going to do something
a little bit more accessible. I may butcher this, but we are hitting up Hanom Crater.
It is super cool and has beautiful views of the entire area. All right, let's go.
Somebody's eager to go hiking. Come on. Today we are hiking to the summit of, I believe it's
called, Hanom Crater. It's one of the series of the many Mono Craters. This hike is super easy.
It's about one mile round trip and it is absolutely mind blowing. We are going right up there.
I see some obsidian shining in the sun up there. Oh, wow. This has been the stuff of arrowheads
way back when. Wow, you guys, check out this obsidian rock. It is incredible. Look at that.
It's like glass. It's translucent. I see the clouds. What do you guys say we get a nice view
of the lake right up here? Check this out. Wow. We made it to the top.
Look at that view. This is a true dome crater. You just see all the spires and the obsidian
everywhere. That's a big lake. 65 miles. I love sharing these adventures with my dad.
Amazing. I'm so glad you do and thank you for this hikadelic tour.
Love you. Love you. All right, you guys, you know the drill. We're gonna enjoy the views and we'll see you
all back at the van. All right, you guys, I think it is time for some breakfast and one of my
favorite coffee and breakfast spots is only 10 minutes up the road in Lee Vining. It's called Latte Da.
Do we have a tired camper? All right, here we are.
Ready. That's good.
Oh, wow. That is so good. Holy crap. And now for the sprouted nest. Cheers.
Whoa. That's so good, too. Hello, good boy. Do you like that? Don't worry, guys, we got some goodies
for the road. I'm so excited. We were thinking Lake Tahoe, not only because it is gorgeous,
but we have some friends up there who are having a barbecue and there's a concert tonight.
So Lake Tahoe is the best. Yeah, that sounds like fun, right? Oh, yeah. Let's kick it. Lake Tahoe,
here we come. Secrets out on this destination. You usually go to such cool secret places, but
I think they found out about this one. Yeah, Tahoe is so touristy. I'm not sure we're going to last
here.
