Hey what's up YouTube, this is Rifleman First and it's been a little while since my last
video and well my gear has undergone numerous upgrades
that I want to share with you. So for those of you who saw my last
SHTF loadout video
you'll recall that I was talking about
a battle belt that I put together and it was my first battle belt
but since then I have
changed things up considerably. So
previously the battle belt was predominantly
Condor products and
now I've upgraded. So let's go ahead and review those items.
So you can see on either end
of the battle belt is the inner belt
and so I now have an actual
Cobra buckle belt. It's a very stiff belt. It happens to be Condor
also and it happens to be made in America which is unusual for Condor.
So you actually pay a premium for that relative to other Condor price
points but it's a great belt.
Very happy with it and that's the one Condor item that stayed
on my battle belt setup.
So I've become a big fan
of HSGI taco pouches.
The Condor pouches that I was using before had a
like a shock cord retention
system that you needed to move out of the way when you want to withdraw the mag
and it was kind of annoying
doing that in like speed drills, trying to do a tactical reload
and that's just a training issue
but I did realize then that I
preferred an open top
magazine pouch and HSGI makes arguably the best ones
around taco pouches. There's tons of videos out there about taco pouches. I don't
really have to go into it too
much, I wouldn't say, other than to point out that
they're extremely versatile. So right there you can see
that I have two double stack pouches
and one single rifle pouch.
So that's a total of three rifle magazines and two pistol mags
and because of the design
like let's say I was going to run an AK or something, then I could put
AK mags in there.
Or let's say I was going to loan this to my buddy who has a
Saiga auto-loading 12 gauge
which has huge magazines. Well, you know, these pouches would accommodate them
and just as an example, so you can see right there that there's some
Glock 21 magazines which is in 45
but if I was to, let's say on a particular day I was going to run my Glock
my 9mm, this pouch
will work just as well for it. You see that? Holds them just as fine.
Great retention.
There's two drawbacks to taco pouches. One is that
they're pricey. They are expensive
but you get good quality for the price, no doubt about it.
And although I haven't had them very long, I expect these pouches to last
a really long time. So, you know, I'll be reporting back on that but I've seen other
YouTube videos where people had HSGI products that
you know, two years of hard use and still just
you know, performing the way they were designed to perform.
So, you know, once again on my left side that's where all my ammunition is.
Oh, and also previously I'd had three
double stack kangaroo pouches for a total of
you know, three rifle mags and three pistol mags but I decided to go with just two
pistol mags. It just seemed excessive to have
three plus one mags for the pistol
considering that it's a secondary weapon.
This balances out pretty well and
I'm happy with the setup. Alright, then in the middle there
you know, no changes there. I still have my tactical tailor dump pouch
and my tactical tailor tourniquet pouch. As you recall, it's easy to just go
ahead and
deploy this and I can
carry all my mags there while I'm in training or in a firefight or whatever.
Okay, so then there with my, of course, my blood
type is my
combat applications tourniquet.
That's very easy to get to in an emergency.
And again, you see how easily this
rolls back up nice and neat. Alright, so
one of the bigger changes is with the accessories that I'm carrying on my belt.
So, I'm using again taco pouches and those are pistol
magazine pouches. But right now,
so you can consider those utility pouches and right now I'm running a
a folding knife and a
you know, a flashlight. So,
you guys have seen this before but there's my Surefire flashlight.
And this right here is a, of course,
cold steel Tonto
Recon 1. It's got the serrated edge, not a big fan.
But anyway, this is more for utility and I guess if my weapons were to run dry or
becoming operable,
this would be my last kind of
lethal tool at my disposal before going to, you know, hands and feet.
Oh, one thing, you know,
and if, you know, if I didn't want to run those particular items, so here for instance
is a Leatherman. That goes in there perfectly.
Or if I need to go heavy on pistol mags,
you see, I can carry, it's very versatile. Taco pouches rule.
And then finally, this is my
Kydex holster from the guys at G-Code.
This is my Glock 21. But let's say I wanted to run my 9mm.
Because of the RTI cam system,
this comes right out and I can put
a different weapon in there, right?
My Glock 19.
Now we're ready to roll with the Glock 19. So that was just a short update on my
battle belt.
I'll post all the individual items on there
on the video.
And hopefully you enjoyed this.
Thanks a lot. Take it easy. Bye.
