Just as we lose hope, she ambles in. A late guest dragging her hem of wildflowers, her torn veil of mist, of light rain, blowing her dandelion breath in our ears. And we forgive her. Turning from chilly winter ways, we throw off our faithful sweaters and open our arms. Spring is making her gentle debut, with more and more pockets of sunshine, lighter evenings, warmer days, and bits of green beginning to peek out across the forest landscape. The birds are returning and greeting each morning with their dawn chorus, a magical delight if you dare wake up early enough to listen to it. I think this season is becoming one of my favorites, especially late spring when the wildflowers are blooming and there is a sweetness to the air that only spring offers. I always say that every season has a magic of its own, and so at the start of each season I always like to take a moment to dream and be inspired for what it might look like, what it could have to offer, what I might like to do within it. And so I'll immerse myself in various creative ways to ground myself in the season and prepare for its beauty. I typically make a mood board, a bucket list, and bake or craft something seasonally inspired.
