hi welcome back to the channel If you're
new here my name is Shay and this is the
space where we break down everything
Canada immigration in plain simple
language Today we're talking about a
very important topic for those that are
looking to either immigrate to Canada or
you're already here in Canada and you're
looking to get permanent residency and
that topic is the English exam popularly
known as the TS And the reason why we're
talking about this is because a lot of
you are having issues passing the IELTS
for several
reasons Honestly sometimes I wonder why
people are so scared of this exam But
again I guess I understand So for
everyone who is scared of the ITS who
has failed it like five times I've got
some great news for you Canada has
officially approved PTE call for Canada
immigration including the express entry
Yeah So now there's a third option for
your English exams And if IS has been
haunting your dreams and draining your
bank account this might just be your
lucky break Let's talk about what these
English tests are for How people are
struggling
with and whether this new kid on the
block the PTA core is actually a better
option for you Okay let's start from the
top If you're planning to move to Canada
whether through Express Entry Provincial
Nominee Program or many of the other
immigration streams you need to prove
that you can speak
English Why Well because Canada wants to
know that when you arrive in Canada you
can survive You can talk to your
co-workers you can ask for help you can
go to school and you can just well
function This exam is not about being
perfect You don't need a British or a
Canadian accent You just need to prove
that you can communicate clearly And
that's where the English tests come in
Canada uses a system called the Canadian
language benchmark the CLB You write
your test and your scores get converted
into CLB levels And usually immigration
programs want you to hit CLB 7 to 9 for
express entry depending on your
situation Until now you had two options
for the English exam Number one is the
ITS general training not the academic
This is the most popular option It's
offered all over the world and almost
everyone knows the ILTS But let me tell
you something IS humbled many people The
speaking part is one-on-one with a human
examiner You sit across from someone who
is judging your grammar your
pronunciation everything and the writing
section Oo that one alone has made many
people cry I've met people who have
taken ITS five times just because they
couldn't hit band seven in writing If
you are interested in ITS you go to a
center to write the tests test but you
can choose either paper based or
computer-based depending on what's
available in your own location You can
book the exams following these steps You
visit the officials website You choose
your country and your test center You
pick your preferred format paper or
computer You pay the fee It's usually
around $300 Canadian or the equivalent
And you'll get confirmation and your
test day instructions by email The
number two option that people have for
the English exam is the cell pip Cell
pip is fully computer-based The speaking
part is just you talking to a microphone
and it's marked by a computer That
sounds great but the problem is that the
cell pip is only available in a few
countries So if you're not in Canada or
the US or a few select locations you
might not even have access to it Let's
be real is not easy And it's not because
you can't speak English You might speak
English fluently every day but the exam
format is tricky You can be a very
fluent English speaker and still fail
the
test Why do people fail First is the
writing section You get just 40 minutes
to plan write and proofread a formal
essay And if you don't follow their
structure to the letter they'll deduct
points from you I've seen people get
stuck on writing for months even though
they speak and they write English every
day Then there's the reading section
Most people fail not because they can't
read English but because they try to
read everything in the exam which is a
very big mistake Reading is about speed
and strategy not full comprehension If
you don't know how to scan for keywords
or sport synonyms fast you run out of
time and you'll fail That's why when I
heard that Canada was adding a new
option I said oh
finally more choice more flexibility So
let's talk about the newest player on
the block the PTE core As of January 30
2024 Canada officially approved PTE core
for all economic immigration programs
including the express entry What is PTE
core It's the piercing test of English
specifically designed for Canadian
immigration And let me tell you a few
things about it There's no speaking to a
human being Everything is done on a
computer They use AI scoring No human
bias If you are clear and you articulate
you will get the score It also offers
faster results You get your results in
about two days And they have more test
centers They are available in over 110
countries So if you've been avoiding
because of the human interaction or you
tired of waiting for results for a long
time this could be the upgrade that you
have been praying for But please
remember PTE academic is for student
visas and PTE core is for immigration
Don't mix them up Let's break it down
side by side so you can decide okay what
works best for me Let's look at CellPIP
and the PTE call side by side We're
going to start with the test format Fors
general not academic General the format
is paper and computer Cell pip the
format is computer only PTE call the
format is computer only when it comes to
the speaking test for TS speaking test
is in person so you do it with a human
cellip is a computer you speaking to a
mic pt core is also a computer you
speaking to a mic now let's look at the
scoring when it comes to scoring fors a
human is scoring plus they have a rubric
as well for cell it is AI scoring plus
they have a rubric pore it's fully AI
with respect to the Results time for
ILts it takes 3 to 5 days Cell pip 4 to
5 days PTE core 2 days For global access
the ILTS is widely available Cell pip is
for limited countries and PTE core is
also widely available All of them are
IRCC approved PTE court approved in
2024 So now the big question is which
one should you choose Is PTO the best
choice for you Iselts the best choice
for you or is CellPIP the best choice
for you How do you know ITS is still
great if it's the only one that's
available near you In that case you have
no choice Cellip is excellent if you're
in Canada or the US and you want a fully
digital
experience Some people prefer computer
things to paper things So Cellpip will
fit you if you're one of those people
Plus some people say that self pip is
easier than IS but I don't want to give
my opinion about that because I cannot
say specifically but if many people are
saying it then then maybe it's true PTE
core is a solid new option especially if
you want fast results you hate human
interviews or you just want something
less stressful and different Honestly
the best test is the one that you can do
well in There's no extra point for
choosing a harder test You're not trying
to impress anybody You just want to hit
that CLB7 and move on with your life For
I test is CLB7 For CELPIP is CLB6 The
most important thing you want to hit the
minimum or even higher and move on with
your life So take some practice test in
all of them See which format fits your
style and go with that And one last
thing no matter which one you choose you
still need to prepare and you need to
prepare very well because one of the
reasons why people fail these exams is
because they do not prepare enough So
knowing that you are spending a lot of
money for this exam please spend
adequate time preparing Don't rush So if
IS has shown you shaggy it's either you
didn't prepare enough you're missing out
on one particular model maybe it's
reading or the writing that you've been
failing you need to go and practice more
on that particular model right Don't
just leave it to chance Practice that
particular model So if it's a speaking
do more practice The secret is more
practice Make sure that when you are
doing your practice exam you actually
see that ah I am actually ready You
would know when you are ready because
you will see from your own practice that
you are ready I think a few weeks ago I
did a video um about where I talked
about how to prepare for the English
exam and I'm going to link it in the
description and at the end of this video
for you to watch it after you watch this
so you know how you should prepare So
now we've talked about the IET cell and
PT code for Canada immigration Let me
know in the comments which test are you
planning to take or which one have you
taken already and how did it go Are you
one of those who hate IELTS Drop your
thoughts in the comments I love hearing
from you And again if you want to know
the strategies that will help you pass
the English exam whether cells or even
the PT core go ahead and watch this
video next because you need the same
strategy to pass all the exams Until
next time take care of yourself and keep
pushing forward You've got this
