Testing the New Lume Cube Panel Mini on a Mavic Mini Drone and Abandoned Video

What Is Up Guys?

This week we’re doing something totally different!

As some of you know, I have been lucky enough to be asked by Lume Cube to become a product ambassador, which means I get access to all of their products to use in exchange for a certain amount of posts where I use their hashtags, mention the products I use and ultimately hope to boost their sales.

This was very exciting to me as I was already using two Lume Cubes even before I was approached by them!

Full transparency here, yes I get a commission of every sale I generate for them.

This week Lume Cube is launching an awesome new light called the Panel Mini and I was given early access to try the light out, create content with it and share it this week during their big launch week for the Panel Mini.

Every day this week I will be featuring a different set of photos or video where I used only the Panel Mini to light up the scene or video.

Today we talk about two things
1 - Drone Light Painting with the Panel Mini
2 - Video Filming with the Panel Mini

The first time I saw drone light painting I was blown away with this creative new style of photography and i couldn’t wait to try it.

Some of the best work I’ve seen in this genre is by another fellow Lume Cube ambassador Gary Cummins Photography, hit the link on his name and check out his work.

I discovered that my Mavic Mini has a payload max of 200 grams and the Lume Cube Panel Mini weights only 86 grams, so I rigged up a way to attach the Panel to my Mavic Mini using a strong 3M Velcro and it worked!

I was able to light up the abandoned house with an exposure of less than 15 seconds!

Next, it was time to go into the abandoned house and see how the Panel Mini holds up as a video light and it really didn’t disappoint. Some lights create a bright white hot spot but the built in diffuser on the panel avoids that altogether.

Also, the ability to adjust the brightness in increments of 5% helps, I could find my ideal brightness which was 70% and preserve battery.

Speaking of battery, the panel has a small LCD screen on the rear which shows you your battery life AND how much run time you have left until you need to charge again.

Here is the video of my explore from this house using the Panel Mini and I also give a quick rundown on the light at the beginning of the video

The Lume Cube Panel Mini is perfect for Videographers, Photographers, Content Creators and YouTubers and you can check the light out and get your own at the link below.
