So Love is Blind Season 3 has been full of much drama, thrills, and suspense,
just like every other season before it.
I do not.
And like many of you, we've been following along with a lot of the episodes as well.
And while we don't subscribe to drama for the sake of drama,
nor do we want to put marriage on an unnecessary pedestal,
we feel that the show shines light on relationships
and some of the key questions that are important to have answered
before you step into marriage.
Questions like this one.
Do you believe love is enough for marriage?
Believe love is enough for marriage?
Shouldn't it be?
So what do you think?
Is love enough for marriage?
You're probably wondering, well, seriously, is it?
Whether you're single or married, this is definitely a question worth addressing.
So here's our take on it.
First, we have to determine how exactly we're defining love.
To quote a few bars from a song by the rap group The Cross Movement,
Most think love, when it's defined as a strong feeling,
your best something that you get in your chest
or something that makes you warm and fuzzy
when you want to get cuddly and snuggled up, love birds in the nest.
But I suggest an introspect because love is much deeper,
more than just a temporary feeling that can flee you.
Love is patient, long-suffering and kind,
keeps no record of wrongs, but always has the other party in mind.
Thank you.
In other words, love is an action.
And not just the kind of action that happens in the bedroom.
If love is an action, then it requires work.
And that work must be carried out by both parties in order for the marriage to last.
To define this a little further,
let us not love with words or speech, but with actions and in truth.
And second, truly loving someone, especially in marriage, takes time and intention.
It's pretty hard to build that type of love and understanding of one another
in a short five weeks, especially if you haven't even seen that person for 10 days.
It takes time and action to get to the point that you actually feel
comfortable building that type of relationship and understanding with someone else.
That is just the reality.
I guess this doesn't really make it a reality TV show.
And third, while love is absolutely necessary to marry someone,
it requires a solid foundation and wisdom to stand upon to guide it in the right direction.
Without a strong foundation, it would be like building a straw house on the sand.
It would remain for a little while, but as soon as that storm comes,
well, it might not make it.
Might not make it.
And at the time of filming this video,
only two out of the 12 couples that got engaged during seasons one and two
are actually still together to this day.
I mean, that's less than a 20% success rate, y'all.
Just saying.
Hopefully some of the couples from season three can help up that.
I don't know.
We shall see.
So, is love enough for marriage?
Well, any two people can go off, get married,
and have a beautiful wedding ceremony with all the bells and whistles.
As we've seen in many of these marriage shows, that's easy.
But to have a solid, lasting marriage, it takes much more than just an
oversimplified idea of love like we see expressed in the show Love is Blind.
Now, this season of the show brings up a few more very important questions
and potential hurdles that you should consider if you're thinking about marriage.
Click on this video here in the top right to see what those are all about.
And we'll see you over there.
It's supposed to be a reality TV show.
It is not reality.
