23andMe har ansökt om konkurs, vilket markerar undergången för det lovande bioteknikföretaget. Följderna av ett dataintrång och svag efterfrågan på företagets testkit för släktforskning väcker på nytt oro och frågor om hur denna information har använts.

In 2021, the stock market was noted as 23andMe with a valuation of 3.5 billion dollars.
But a five-month long data entry two years later exposed personal information from almost 7 million customers,
which was a hard blow to the company's reputation.
But just because 23andMe has gone bankrupt,
doesn't mean that your personal information has disappeared into the cyberspace.
Someone else will probably acquire it.
So essentially what that means is the acquiring company has to uphold the same standards to the information that 23andMe has already put in place.
But users should be cognizant that there likely might be a transfer of that information and understand who that third-party acquirer is meant to be.

Program manager for WhatTheHack, Adam Levin, says that DNA is the most sensitive of all data.
Or you're worried about the fact that anyone else who may have it is in a position to misuse it.
Then where you can delete it, you should absolutely delete it.
At the end of last year, 23andMe put up 200 employees and stopped the development of all therapies.
23andMe secured a financing commitment of approximately 35 million dollars on March 23,
and will continue to operate during the sales process.
The company listed its assets and estimated debts between 100 and 500 million dollars.
The report comes from Andrew Thomas, NTD News.
