Taiwan has received the first of 66 F-16V ‘Viper’ jets from US defence giant Lockheed Martin, boosting its aerial capabilities against China. The advanced 4++ generation fighters will be inducted later this year, with full delivery expected by 2026. Taiwan is also upgrading 139 older F-16s under its "Peace Phoenix Rising" initiative
