Sofia SAMODELKINA (KAZ) | Women Free Skating | Four Continents | Seoul 2025 | #4ContsFigure

Representing Kazakhstan, Sofia Samodelkina. So we've got two to go in this penultimate group. And on the ice now, lying in eighth place, another skater that got a season's best in the Short Program. Looking for a good skate here, if she possibly can. This is Sofia Samodelkina for Kazakhstan. Really good start. Triple flip, double toe. Great running edge and control coming out of the double axel. Nothing wrong with the Salchow. Transitions are superb. Yeah, love the entry into the loop. Well, she was thundering down the rink into that triple loop. Just not sure she made the rotation. But the triple toe on the end looked really good. Oh, the flip. That was better. Boy, did she cover some ice in that four minutes. That was another mighty fine skate from the 18-year-old from Moscow. Trains in Almaty. In fact, trains in Astana in Kazakhstan. Sofia Samodelkina. She was motoring around that ice for the duration of the four minutes. She didn't tire at all. This is how it all began. There's that flip. Does she make this round? It was maniacal. Double toe on the end there. Let's see what the technical panel think. They've given it the thumbs up. Some wonderful transitions. It gives the judges the opportunity to go up with the grade of execution when you've got an interesting entry into the jump and then something difficult on the end. And it keeps the interest in the program. And looking down, there was only that loop, the first jump pass in the second half where she was slightly under-rotated. She didn't quite get the lift on it. I think this may well have been the one. Yeah, that was it. She got the double toe on the end. But that, inside the last quarter, that is the only element. And looking at this one, that's going to get a Q as well, is it? No, it gets a warning on the edge going in. So that's going to get a negative GOE as well, I think. So just the two lutzes with negative grade of executions and not much. She's lost about two points on those two elements in total. But for the most part, goodness me, she was right on the money. Fantastic stuff. The combo spins. Level 4, the layback spin at Level 3. So 1.29.39, it's a season's best again. She keeps the momentum going. Fantastic stuff for her. And now Sofia Samogutkina for Kazakhstan is in the lead. Hainley in second, Seremur Dubois in third place.
