Forest 1-0 Manchester United ｜ Extended Highlights ｜ Premier League

Would have been expecting or wanting to have by any stretch of the imagination but still Manchester United here at the city ground as Ryan Yates one of the heroes of Saturday leads his team out kept his place in the starting lineup has have as have nine others only one change which is perhaps a little bit of a surprise given how much work they had to get through the other night there were one or two or really limping heavily by the end maybe just cramping up but all of them bar Nico Dominguez who's on the bench tonight will start again today Anthony Alanga is the man who comes into the starting lineup in Dominguez's place no Callum Hudson-Odoi he's missing tonight due to a personal matter still no Chris Wood Alex Moreno and the goalkeeping sub is Carlos Miguel the scarves come out and are held aloft all around the city ground as the fans belt out the Forest Anthem Mull of Kintyre Jared Gilletts the referee from Australia tonight and he's just getting the players into formation from either side as we get ready for Mull but in the end United come away with it and it's sent forward early towards Fernandes who shoots early and sells has parried it round his post snapshot from Bruno Fernandes Manchester United's danger man looked as if Forest had that under control then De Ligt just nicked it away from Elliot Anderson Garnaccio moved it on towards Fernandes Ryan Yates is almost doing a job on Fernandes following him as sometimes when you look at it he's inside Eina who's given Eina the license to go and press the left wing back for Man U so at times Yates is almost playing like a centre half third centre half Yates has headed this away from the penalty area and Alanga's chased after it and gets to it and he's racing through the United half with Gibbs White to his left Alanga goes on and Alanga's just a United man magnificent from outside and all the way he had Gibbs White to his left and he decided not to bother Alanga scores against Manchester United not much of a celebration for him to be fair as his teammates go and surround him but what a goal they had no answer to his pace from Ryan Yates his defensive header out of his own penalty area Alanga did the rest absolutely devastating from the former Manchester United man and it's Forest one United nil five minutes in what a goal what a run from Alanga there like you said defending a corner 10 seconds earlier to Alanga opening his legs Igarte can't keep up leaves him for dust and it almost looks like he missed the opportunity to play Gibbs White and it just he just kept going and the Man U defenders didn't close him down I'm thinking pass it pass it and it got to a stage I'm thinking shoot as now Dallo makes tracks down the right for United Bruno Fernandes with a header and straight at Martsells who makes the save Nuno is unhappy about something he's saying go longer yeah I think so get the ball out of you away from our goal he breaks away towards halfway into the feet of Xerxe Xerxe moves it on towards Dogu left hand side danger here as he puts in a low cross and sells comes and makes the catch down low stretching out to make sure he got there through Alanga to Gibbs White Gibbs White with the cross towards the back edge of the box Milenkovic heads it across and headed by and plucked out of the sky just underneath his crossbar by Andre Onana from their right hand side right footed out swinging corner near post header from Casemiro again in that area of the pitch straight at the goalkeeper for Nico Williams now playing on the right hand side gives it Alanga again Alanga's cross Yates header oh brilliant save from Andre fabulous save good header from Ryan Yates powerful near post downwards flag is up so uh would have been offside anyway but it's a fabulous save from Anana it'll be a Manchester United free kick it's a great save he didn't know the flag went up but Yates to be fair to him he did everything right apart from get back on side he he made good contact he headed it down made it get off the turf Anthony Alanga's goal after five minutes separating the sides sent forward long this by De Ligt down the right hand side for Dallo Dallo gets hold of the ball and now rolls it back for Casemiro to clip up across headed away well by Williams back post comes down for Garnaccio to shoot and curls it over the crossbar only just so much so that it dipped over the bar and rattled against the stanchion holding the net up behind Matt Sells goal there stands over the ball chips it into the penalty area up gets Moreno to win the first header Hoyland nods it towards goal but tamely and that's easy for Matt Sells Dallo tucks it back again for Fernandes to cross aimed at Xerxe his header go rather Dorgu arriving back post header straight at Sells coming towards the final 11 minutes here at the city ground Forrest leading 1-0 this is Garnaccio Garnaccio teasing against uh Williams crosses blocked by Murillo then Dominguez oh that's a ball from Milenkovic and just wide the curling effort from Mason Mount just on the field and he and well he's he's being told there is united only half clear Sosa for Sangare Sangare sprays out a ball right hand side for Nico Williams Williams on the volley over the crossbar from an angle brilliant effort superb effort we will have another six minutes that seems a lot for a second half that hasn't had crossfield gives it Dallo Dallo backwards for Masraoui he crosses back post crowd of bodies Murillo clears off the line it's a superb clearance from Murillo and right at the death the clearance from Murillo on the line to deny united the equalizer it was Harry Maguire who sent it towards goal in a scramble and there's Murillo quickly Ericsson fires over across which fizzes off the bar and that's it full time three more huge points for Forrest who beat Manchester United at the city ground and one by one they're falling onto their backs the Forrest players who've given so much to get three more points and to do the double over Manchester United for the first time since 1992 it's another clean sheet for Matt Sells and the defence they've thrown everything at Forrest Manchester United and right at the death the clearance from Murillo on the line to deny united the equalizer
