March 27, 2025 | Adirondacks, NY • Adirondacks, protected by the "Forever Wild" state law are the largest wilderness area in the United States (the park is bigger than Yellowstone, Yosemite, Glacier, Grand Canyon, and Great Smokies National Parks combined.) The Wright peak ski trail that I am attempting to ski here was cut in 1938 and at one point the ski traffic on it was so high, that it triggered creation of Whiteface ski resort. It's a bit late in the season, and the ADKs were always a bit intimidating. So this day proved the old saying, "Experience is a harsh teacher, she give you the test first, and lesson afterward."
