Alright, first of all I'd like to say a big thank you to Bringer Trailer, especially Randy
Nonnenberg for founding this fabulous site, Hearst Communications for partnering up with
them, and Ryan Huber who is one of the specialists there that helps us with all our auctions.
It is a fantastic platform for everybody in the classic car industry, motorcycles, four
wheel drives.
Now, for those of you who have not been with Bringer Trailer since the beginning, it was
not unusual to see a project Porsche.
So what we're going to do is we're going to take our 1976 911 project for a test drive.
So grab your cup of joe and let's go.
What a great day to be alive.
Anytime you can take an air cooled 911 out for a test drive is a great day.
I think this brings a whole new definition to air cooled, doesn't it?
I have some questions on how the sunroof functioned.
I think we're going to have to pull it in the body shop, put a power, port a power up
here, push it up and see if it'll work.
So we'll try to answer that question for y'all later.
So one of the big things on Bringer Trailer as a seller is you really need to engage with
the audience, your buyers and your commentators.
So we try to answer as many questions as possible within reason.
Taking this three leg and 911 coupe out for a test drive maybe was a stretch, but you
asked for it.
Here we go.
You know, the old joke that it can run through you like a Porsche with the doors open.
Well, the air is running through this thing and the doors are both open.
And the air conditioner is actually working outstanding.
It's 59 degrees outside and it feels like it's about 55 degrees in here.
So to answer your questions on how the air conditioning is working in this air cooled
911, really well.
This is a little harsh on the left front.
It doesn't feel quite right.
Maybe it's because the shock is here on the floor attached to the front wheel.
That could be part of the problem, but it goes with the car.
See that?
When was the last time you saw the left front suspension, brake wheel and shock inside the
car?
You never know when you might need it.
So now we're rolling pretty good and if I had to guess, it's probably about 50 degrees
in here.
So outstanding air conditioning in this almost glassless 911.
I learned early on in the sports car world buying cars that you save them all.
You roll up to a field, a barn, a wrecking yard, you find a 911, Austin-Healey, E-Type
Jag, Ferrari, and there have been some rare ones found, you buy them.
You don't leave them there.
Same with muscle cars.
I have bought several Shelby Mustangs out of wrecking yards.
But I digress.
Back to the Porsches.
Save them all.
I think worst case scenario to use this car is yard art.
You imagine rolling down a country road, you look at a big old pasture, some dude's 20-30
acres out there, and this is parked under a tree, a 911, that is yard art.
It really is not a pleasure to ride in.
A little bumpy, but overall, a great day to be alive and never turn down a ride in a 911.
So again, we're going to answer the top 10 questions on this car before the auction ends.
So if you have a question, let me know.
The clock does not work.
The tach's not working.
The speedometer's not working.
The odometer's not working.
The oil pressure gauge is not working.
The temperature gauge is not working.
The oil tank rating is not working.
And the fuel tank sending unit is not working either.
And it's got an aftermarket CD player in it.
It's not working.
The heater's not working.
So so far, the AC works fantastic as long as it's below about 75 degrees outside.
Brakes are stuck and no clutch.
Now, how are we going to ship this car to the next buyer?
We will set it on any car carrier that shows up with a forklift, or if it's going out of the country,
we will set it on a large pallet, strap it to that pallet, and deliver it to the port.
Worldwide shipping is available on this cream puffer.
And there you have it, a successful 911 test drive.
Bring your trailer, bring your helmet, and send us your questions.
Have a great day.
Let's see if I can get out of this thing.
Help!
I'm tied in so I wouldn't fall out?
That's pretty clever.
So am I tied in with the windshield seal or the back glass seal?
Back glass seal.
Okay, see?
It's used for everything.
You can never throw it away, right Alex?
