How about you? I'm Hank. Welcome to Hamiltonville Farm. We got a really cool video for you today.
I've got my master mechanic here, Randall, with me. Hamiltonville Farm master mechanic. Are you
going to start charging me? Yeah, no, no, no. My work is definitely not charging. Yeah, payroll.
You're going to be on the Hamiltonville Farm payroll. And we've officially named the Branson
tractor. This is Brutus. All right, so you're going to see Brutus. You're going to see Brutus
pull a dump truck out of the woods today. We're going to get this dump truck started. It's going
to be an awesome video. But before we move into the actual video, there's a couple of things I
wanted to say. So please stick around for this real quick. I wanted to say thanks. I was reading
my Bible this morning, and the passage on it was being thankful and thanksgiving and things like
that. And so I just want to say thanks for you, right? Because without you watching, without you
doing comments, or I've got friends from Canada, Mexico, Australia, UK, all over the globe that
watch our videos. I appreciate you. Me and Gina really appreciate your support. So thanks a lot.
It means a lot to us. Now we're going to go. We're going to get this dump truck. We're going to get
it out of the woods, and we're going to start it. And old Brutus here is going to do all the
backbone for us. You can see all the Branson tractors at www.bransontractors.com. Go check
their lineup out. You'll like what you see. All right, let's go. Let's go get this dump truck,
This lovely Ford F800 with not a 429. You can see it says here it's got a four. I don't know
if you can see with that shadow, but it says 429 in it. It doesn't have a 429 in it. This thing has
been converted to a diesel engine. It's got a cat 3208 I think is what's in it. So we're going to
we're going to take a look at it here. It's missing a windshield. That's really,
that creates a lot of drag for when we're doing 60 down the road, so we have to fix that.
And here's the, it's got a couple rust spots, not too many. You know, this is, it could be
fixed with some Bondo, I think, down there. Can we fix it, Randall? I think so, yeah.
All right, let's take a look at the inside of this bad boy. All right, so yeah, a little Swiss
cheese. So we actually have the keys. Let me tell you a little bit about this truck once I get out
of the cockpit here. So you can see here the dash. This is our little friend. He's the Hamiltonville
Farm mascot, that little spider over there. That's what the backside looks like. It's pretty
good shape. So this truck actually belongs to my father-in-law. He's had it on his property for a
while and I knew it's been sitting down here and I was like, hey, you know what? I should take
Randall with me and we should go see if we can get that truck cranked because it don't crank,
you turn it, you turn the key over and nothing happens. We'll put a new battery in it, see if
works. We'll check all the fluids like we normally do. This is actually, that bed that Randall's at
actually tilts with the weight. It's gravity fed, right? So it's not hydraulic, but it does tilt.
It's got a little lever underneath it. So let's go ahead and take a... I hope I don't get snake
bit out here. There is the back tire. At least all the tires have air in them. Well, the tire...
So that's actually an upgrade. So let's see. Let's check this bad boy out and see if we can't
get her cranked. That's today's objective. Get her cranked to move. We brought a battery with us.
We brought some diesel in our sure can. We got a toolkit, but I'm not going to use it.
I'm actually just going to use this. Randall, huh? I'll show you what you got. Look at Randall, huh?
Your contribution to the Crescent Wrench Crew here? Absolutely. All right. So cool. So we're
going to get the battery put in it. We'll check the fluids and then get started, man. This is
going to be a fun project. And if you like videos like this, we do a lot of tractor videos. We do a
lot of heavy equipment. Some Will It Start videos. If you like that kind of stuff, go ahead and hit
that subscribe button. We'd appreciate it. Before we get the battery here, we'll clean up a little,
do a little battery maintenance here. Hey, Randall, can you not take the jaws of the
Crescent Wrench and like scrape it around a little bit? I could, yeah. Let me get out my
heavy duty tool right here. I really don't want you to use a good pocket knife on our
battery over here. So there you go. You got to stick to the plan, man. Stick to the plan.
Sitting down on the jaw. I give Tommy a break every now and again. He's the highest paid member
of our production team. So I let him sit down at the... I let him sit down every now and again.
All right. So this battery is actually located underneath the fender here,
the wheel well on the passenger side. So we'll stick that in there and you can help me carry
that in there. Got us real good tied down here with the rope. All right.
I mean, the trees growing up in it, loose connections everywhere.
That's a factory option in 1982.
Probably got to clean that up too, huh? You got to clean everything, Hank.
Got to get it at least to where that it's mediumly not dirty.
That's it. Mediumly not dirty. Put a wing nut on there.
Now this is actually a different battery than we used to use on all our Will It Start videos.
If you haven't seen our other Will It Start videos, I'll put the playlist in the description
below. We've got a lot of cool ones on there. We've only not been able to crank a John Deere
310 backhoe and that thing's aggravating as it can be, man. It's stumping us, you know?
We'll go over here and look at this. I hope I don't get snake bit out here, man. Let's see
this fuel tank. It don't say unleaded on it, which is a good thing because that would probably
confuse you since it's converted to diesel. Got a little bit in it. Probably add some more. Let
me go add some more just to make sure. Go back here and freshen the diesel up. You get that
battery put in? Got the battery put in. We'll look under the hood here in a sec, fellas.
All right, let's check up underneath the hood. I wish I'd have brought a chainsaw.
Yeah, I could do that. I got a sawzall with a battery.
Hope nothing flies out of that thing.
There's a stick in the air filter here. Oh, looky here. Glass. This is the new model where
they actually add glass and wood. It's got the pre-filtering there. Well, it's also the
earth-friendly model. That's it. The belt looks like they're in good shape.
It actually don't, the engine compartment don't look that bad as far as, oh yeah,
as far as like been sitting here. Like I see some, like if you look down here,
I don't know if you can see it in here, like there's a, what we call them a dirt daubers.
I don't know what y'all call them in other parts of the world, but there's a dirt daubers nest
there. Some, some vegetation here and there, but this is that, this is that diesel, this cat,
this cat engine that we were talking about earlier. All right, let's see the, see if it's
getting cooler. Oh, yeah, it's nice and rusty, but it's got some. Well, we checked the fluids
and stuff. It looks pretty good. Now let's, I mean, heck, why not? Let's just try it, right?
It cracks me up. All right, here we go. I gotta get this out of the way. Come on, get out of there.
It's got air brakes.
There we go. All right, here we go. Ready? Let's see what we got. Nothing. All right.
It's just got air brakes in it. Probably going to need to have to crank it up,
you know what I mean? Or drag it out with the tires, with the tire screech behind us here.
All right, let's see. Let me see if we can't investigate a little more underneath the hood.
All right, there's some things you can do inside the engine compartment.
So, Tommy, what have we got to do here? It's got a manual pump up on the fuel.
This right here? You screw that little white knob out. All right. This way. All right. Now what?
All right, now pump it. Yeah, there you go. All right, and keep going until we win. I ain't
never done this before. It's a little hard. Oh, gotcha. Oh, it's like a primer pump, basically.
Yeah, okay, I gotcha. You like the seat cover? What about the custom seat cover?
All right, we got buzzer. All right. Got nothing. Man, we ain't even getting nothing.
All right, let's brainstorm for a second here off camera. Because sometimes our ideas might
not be OSHA approved, you know? Sometimes when we're talking off camera, these ideas that we
have, they're dumb, right? They're about as dumb as taking a laxative and a sleeping pill on the
same day. That's never a good idea. Well, we know that it was stuck in the woods. We were hoping
that we could crank it, but I was sitting here talking to Tommy before we actually drove down
here. He was like, man, it's not going to crank. And I said, well, we do the things that we do to
it. Put the battery in it and check the fluids and get the right combination of the mechanical
work that we got to do. We can get it to crank. But if not, that's why we brought Brutus, right?
We brought Brutus because in case we have to pull this thing out of the woods. But we started
talking about, well, when we pull it out, since it's a diesel, why don't we try jumping it off,
you know, popping the clutch, trying to get some compression that way. Because the fuel pump
actually gets fuel, you know, that primer pump we just showed you. So it delivers fuel to the front
or into the engine. So we think the start is probably bad. If that's the case, well, in a
diesel engine, you can always just get it started and then you pop the clutch and let the compression
basically do the rest. You know what I mean? So you don't need a spark in a diesel engine.
I don't know anything about that, but I've heard that before. So we'll see if that's actually the
case or not. So let's get Brutus hooked up to it. Oh, this is another thing we were also talking
about was this thing's got air brakes on it. And so we need to figure, well, hopefully we can pull
the truck out of the woods. Either the tires will free up or we can pull it while the tires are
locked up. We'll try it. Anyway, that's what's next step in the process here. All right. Now
we got Brutus hooked or backed up. We'll hook them up. Got a little clevis hook here.
And then we'll hook it. Of course, I brought a 20 foot chain.
There you go. All right, here we go.
Y'all hear something up there? We got the drone working for us.
Probably just blinded him. I know, right? He's got to turn his AC on first.
coordinate. I'm going to push this off. He's going to pop the clutch. And if this thing takes off,
he's going to take off, right? So that's why he's up there driving it.
We cleared everything out in front of it. So y'all, fingers crossed, right?
It cranked, man. It started.
It cranked up with no problems is what I'm saying.
Sounds good. That sounds great. Hey, listen, every now and again, we get lucky.
That's great, man. This is what I was talking about gravity fed while ago.
Yeah, I like the automatic ramp. That's awesome.
All right, so he's driving back to the house and we are going to
get in here and go back to the house as well. Oh man, we got flies in here. Hold on a sec.
One of the most common questions I get on my channel is, Hank, why are you so handsome?
I'm just kidding. That's the second most common one. The most common question I get on the
channel is, what are you going to do with this equipment that you find once you get it running
and stuff? So this actually, we're going to take this 450J here. We put the new tracks on it. I'll
put the video to that here in this corner right here. But he's going to load this up here and
he's actually going to transport that John Deere on this truck. So he's going to go ahead and load
that up. But he'll put a starter on it and he'll get that thing cranked up and shoot, man, now you
get yourself a transport for your bulldozer. So that's what he's going to do with this particular
piece of equipment that we've got. I can't believe how easy that was, man.
Yeah, it was easy. Ten feet and it fired off.
Yeah, it was like ten feet, man. So it's pretty cool, man. So let's watch him load this dozer
Hey, that's experience driving that thing.
Hey, we appreciate you watching. To learn more about the Branson tractors,
go to www.bransontractors.com. Hey, if you want to subscribe to Hamiltonville Farm,
check out this little circle right there where Brandel's pointing. And then the video underneath
it will take you to another Will It Start video that we've done here. We appreciate
you guys watching. Take care.
