Ha Giang Motorbike Adventure, part 1

Motorized controls for the bed to go up and down and legs to go up and headrest to go up. A little bit of the countryside. Probably less than 10 minutes out of Hanoi airport. Don't know how to turn the TV on but there is a TV. Up here. Bit of moon lighting. Bit bumpy. Change it to white. Brighter white. And off. Since I didn't get much sleep on the plane, might be a good time for a nap. In the sleeper bus. Hey team, we're ready to go. You've seen in our previous clip there, the map. We gave us a little bit of a rundown. Here is our crew. Hello. Ready to go? Yes, I am. Ready. We've got a variety of bikes coming along with us. Dirt bikes and some easy riders. And a semi-automatic. Ready to go? Yes. Excited? Super excited. Alright, we're all geared up. Ready to go. Let's go. Take care. Good night. We're kicking off our run on the Ha Giang. The company we're doing it with is called Ha Giang Adventure. We'll leave a link in the description below for how to book through them. They have taken care of so much stuff for us so far already. Including the pre-night accommodation, meals, and also all food and accommodation. Plus the guides. The only thing they didn't cover was bike insurance, which we pay for separately. And our first night accommodation, which is technically the day before day one of the tour. So, how about this? I don't know if this will show up on camera, but the excitement exerting from me right now. This has been a bucket list item for me for so long. And we've just left the homestay. This is the start of this bike tour. We just talked to one of our hosts. He was saying that the weather guide is not really accurate. Because I've been pretty worried this past week checking the weather forecast for the whole week of this bike tour. Well, it's almost a week. It's five nights, six days. The forecast says it's thunderstorms basically for pretty much the entire trip. But the gentleman was saying to us that it mostly rains at night and not so much during the day. But the weather forecast is not very accurate. It was meant to rain all yesterday and it didn't rain a single drop. So I guess, fingers crossed, having the backpack on and the big bag behind me as well. Prevents me from sitting back. However comfortable this is. Pushing me up to the front a little bit. Which is a little uncomfortable. It's six days and it might be an issue. So I might at some point end up taking the backpack off and double stacking the bags at the back. And I'll just have the drone bag over my shoulder, something like that maybe. But we'll have to see what eventually will work. See if any of us get a flat, any of us break down. Fingers crossed not. And we'll just have to see whether it rains or not. Fairly ominous to the left over the mountain there. Not sure which direction we go. We are going down from the... We're in the mountains just outside Hargrove City. I think from memory we are going down the mountain right and through that to the next location. Coming down the mountain from home. The weather's been good. But today we had to do a little test ride prior to leaving. So they can see what our skills were. I got instructed to go last because I'm the best apparently. Because whilst we ride automatic scooters in Asia quite often. As you would have seen in our previous videos. There's been a bunch of them. And we do have a motorbike licence. It's legal in Australia. Apparently we don't have any international driving permit. But Australia is not part of that accord. But these are manual dirt bikes as well. In my younger years I've definitely ridden some off-road dirt bikes. I got a pit bike. 110 cc. Medium sized one. But this is six days on a manual dirt bike. So pro rider I am far from. Quick clip here riding through what I believe is Hargrove City. Just filled up for fuel. And now this is us exiting the city. The sign says this is where the beauty begins. And this river right beside the road here. Next to that limestone cliff. Already looks pretty amazing. Can you believe this? Bucket list item. Although technically we're not actually doing the loop. Because we're doing a six day tour. Which takes us out to Ban Gio. Waterfalls. Those huge waterfalls that is on the border between Vietnam and China. River comes from China and it falls over the waterfalls in Vietnam. Stunning picture-perfect places that I've actually never experienced. So technically we finish in Cao Bang City. So we're not actually doing a loop. Back at the homestay JC got a couple of tips. As our guide was explaining where we're going. So that was kind of making a bit more sense. And that map doesn't show the full area. It's the last province cut off. So it's one of the other stops. Enough rambling. Let's give you guys a view. I'm sure it won't be much more than a few bends away. They're just some nice to have. People who think wouldn't it be nice one day. But this. This is a true bucket list item that I've had on a list. And I've looked and searched and tried to plan a way to get here and be able to do it. Our last visit to Vietnam which is a continuation of this series that we left you off in the last video. Was a food tour in Saigon. And now we're back in the north. Continuing on from that series is this. And we wanted to actually do this bike tour and the waterfalls. Our last trip here. Look it's so many stops already. And we haven't had to take photos. As we do with this. We did briefly. Probably going to have to split this into a video per day. But until we see how much footage we get. How much it rains. We can shoot. Some of our trusty steeds. So yeah. As you'll see in those previous clips. Still at the very start of the first day here on the Hà Giang Loop. Hà Giang? Hà Giang. Is it Hà Giang? Hà Giang Loop. Just pulled over here on the side of the road. We've got a really nice little rice paddy field. Is it corn? Corn field? Corn yeah. So they just pulled over. The rest of the group's just taken a few photos. We're admiring the view as well. We're going to take out the drone here. But they said that there's another spot a little bit further up. That's even more beautiful than this. So we're going to wait until then. Because this is only a two minute stop. He said the next one will stop for about 10 to 15 minutes. I'll grab the Avada out. I can graze it through the corn fields. Graze it through the rice fields. Hopefully without upsetting any farmers. And yeah. On the previous clip I didn't realise. We've never been anywhere on a trip where the rice is in grow season. It's always only ever been when they're getting planted. And it just looks magic. The cascading falls of rice fields. Like how they stack them. Anyway. More beauty to be seen on the rest of the trip. Let's keep going.
