NASA's New Space Plane Ready To Fly and SOLVES Problem of Starship!
For nearly two decades, SpaceX has firmly established itself as the titan of the space industry, frustrating rivals and concerning new entrants with its relentless innovation and ambitious missions.
However, a bold challenger has emerged from Louisville: Sierra Space, a young private company with a vision to disrupt the status quo.
At the heart of this ambition is the Dream Chaser, a revolutionary spaceplane that combines the advantages of reusable spacecraft with the unique capability for runway landings.
The potential of this vehicle is huge, moreover, it is almost ready to fly. Once operational, many experts believe it will present SpaceX with a real challenge in maintaining its dominance.
Find out everything in today's episode.

Inspired by the design of Nasa's Space Shuttle, combined with modern technologies, Sierra Space's Dream Chaser is notable for being the first commercial lifting-body spacecraft capable of landing on conventional runways, setting it apart from traditional capsule designs.
Like other modern spaceplanes, the Dream Chaser is a reusable, multi-mission spaceplane, designed primarily for transporting crew and cargo to low-Earth orbit. The spacecraft is part of NASA's Commercial Resupply Services program and is expected to support missions to the International Space Station starting no earlier than May 2025. For its first mission, sometime in 2025, Tenacity – the first model of the Dream Chaser spaceplane will fly atop a United Launch Alliance's Vulcan Centaur launch vehicle. It will carry about 8,500 pounds (3,850 kilograms) to the ISS. NASA has contracted with Sierra Space for seven cargo missions to the space station.

With approximately 30 feet in length, the cargo version features foldable wings, allowing it to fit within a 5-meter diameter payload fairing for launch on various rockets, including the Vulcan Centaur.
The spacecraft is covered with about 2,000 thermal protection tiles, compared to the 24,000 tiles used on the Space Shuttle. Those withstand re-entry heat and help maintain internal temperatures during orbit. The Dream Chaser can carry up to 12,000 pounds (approximately 5,443 kilograms) of cargo, including both pressurized and unpressurized items. An additional expendable module called Shooting Star can carry up to 10,000 pounds (4,536 kilograms) of cargo.
