This is all really, really, really new and I'm still getting used to it but this is why I have
her next to me throughout the whole thing. It's amazing to be nominated, obviously I'm not
completely in belief of it's happening and that it should really be me being nominated,
but it's amazing to be here and I'm so glad that I'm here and yeah I can't thank you enough really.
But no, I can't thank you enough. I'm speechless.
Aside from an unexpected awards nomination,
what have you taken away from the experience of working with Carol and Maisie of course?
Well my experience with Maisie is a whole different thing because obviously I know
that Carol found me and Shaheen Baig casting found me, but Carol was very much like my mum on set,
like anything I didn't understand was explained by Carol and I felt completely at home there.
It wasn't like a nerve-wracking thing, I mean obviously the first day was, but it was very
welcoming but Maisie kind of taught me everything I really needed to know and not in a patronising
way or a scary way, it was just done simply by a really nice friendship as well and so I owe a lot
to Maisie and Carol for welcoming me and basically dragging me by the hand. So yeah, my experience
with them couldn't have been a better one really. Lots of the scenes that are done, especially with
the girl group, we lived in a house together so seven, eight, seventeen year olds in a house,
so lots of the things on set and were filmed were kind of giggles anyway, like I had the most
amazing time living with those girls and a couple of scenes which Carol caught, like for example if
you've seen it, there's a scene where Maisie and I are lying down on the bed and that was just fluke,
Carol walked in and saw us that we were sleeping there basically and so watching the film is just
one big memory really and it's quite tear-jerking at times but no, it's all a great story.
