Tomokazu Harimoto vs Wang Chuqin Match Highlights ｜ #WTTChongqing 2025

Put the red on the forehand for that high lob. Watch the color on the racket of Wang Chuqing. Harimoto, that trademark scream, perhaps it was drowned out by the crowd. We'll keep him honest. Little net for the second to last shot for Tomokazu, but an outstanding rally and suddenly they're leveled. It's been a receiver's last several points. I like it. Pressure quick into the backhand. One on the elbow. And he goes wider to the backhand. Takes his chances here, goes for broke, leaves the whole table open. Good net recovery early on in the rally here. Here's one. Oh, what a point from Harimoto. Just absorbing that aggression from Wang Chuqing, everything coming back with interest. It's the most one-sided game we've seen so far and in a best of seven, the way things are looking right now. We've got a long way to go in this match. Six out of the last eight points have gone his way, so we'll make that seven of nine. Final between these two contrasting players. Semi-final match here, but as tight as can be in game number three. Oh, my God. A moment of magic from Wang Chuqing. You could see what the plan was from Harimoto, but Wang Chuqing had the answers. What they saw in that rally and gasping even more so in delight as their favorite Wang Chuqing. He tries his best in terms of the noise levels. I don't know if the math is perfect here, but I'd guess if there were about 800 Tomokazus in the crowd. Chuqing just so good. Superb shot placement from Harimoto. Fast exchange, power comes in, soft spin, and then he predicts. Go wide, hope that he pivots. And what a start for Wang Chuqing. There's one hell on his feet. It takes a lot to get that man up and cheering. I'm not sure if it was the toss or the contact. Either way, a service warning on both sides now. They've both had their warnings. Authority on those shots. Winner as well. Wang Chuqing reestablishes his lead. Having been pegged back to six, all he's now got is those two points ahead. Struggle in any way. What a way to bring up match points. Cool as you like for Wang Chuqing. Tomokazu Harimoto four games to one to seal his place in the finals in Chongqing. It was a valiant effort from a fighting Harimoto. But Wang Chuqing, cool, calm, composed, and just too good. Allows himself a smile for a job well done. We look forward to seeing him in action later on this afternoon. A really impressive display from Wang Chuqing.
