Franklin Ben Johns 16mm Pickleball paddle review by Joe Gmuer
Watch normal amateur non pro pickleball players on their quest to 5.0 pickleball 2020-2021. Improve your game! Pickleball games for all skill levels. This channel is dedicated to all the gold seeking Pickleballers out there who dink responsibly and stay out of the kitchen. I started this channel quite by accident, I was recording my games to do film study and get better. I did not have time or money for lessons from pro pickleball coach, so I started watching all my screwups. People that I was playing with started to ask if they could watch too and I said sure. That helped all of us a lot to improve our game, strategy, mental toughness, and techniques. Now we have new pickleball videos published several times a week. We occasionally have pro pickleball players on the channel. Mostly its non pro pickleball players on their quest to 5.0 pickleball. We have all levels come through the channel, but we concentrate on the 4.0 pickleball, 4.5 pickleball and up to 5.5 pickleball with the pros. Pickleball games for all skill levels. Pickleball Review

Hey everyone, and welcome to Pickleball Pirates! I am doing the Ben Johns 16 millimeter paddle review. This is what I play with. I switched from the Premiere Pro. I switched after watching Ben Johns and Simone Jardim just really destroyed people in the ClearOne tournament. I couldn't believe the spin and the feel that Ben Jones was getting with it. I didn't know if it was Ben Johns or me. I'm going to give you a objectionable review. I'm not sponsored guys. I have nothing to fear. It's not like I'm gonna get unsponsored. Here's me warming up. I want to run through the specs now. This is a 16 millimeter paddle that just came out it's 16.5 by 7.3 inches the length of the handle is 5.6 inches.
The core is 16 millimeters instead of 13 millimeters. What does that mean? It means it's going to be sturdier, it's going to be firmer, and it's going to give you a little more feel. They say it has a fiberglass surface layer and this is supposed to ensure a larger sweet spot. With my experience I will say I don't feel the paddle is as forgiving as some, but with the feel the spin all the intangibles. I love it. I really feel dinking. It's helping me a ton. I feel it doesn't have as much pop as a premiere pro, but in pickleball do you really need that much pop? Don't take this the wrong way. You get good power with the paddle, and the forehand, and backhand rolls it's second to none. It's max grit the pat the paddle is very almost not sandpapery, but has a lot of grit, which is going to allow you to really hit those nice back and rolls, hit those nice diving backhand and forehand drives. That's what I really like I can get my opponents off balance. I can hit the spots I want to hit. In pickleball that's all comes down to. I got mine used, I bought it from the Badger who's on this channel. He plays with a Gearbox, and he was so used to the Gearbox and no edge guard. He thought the paddle was pretty unforgiving. I'm just trying to give a little more objectionable view. He didn't like it because it wasn't as forgiving as a Gearbox series. It comes down to what you're used to. It's not for everyone. I really like it. I have a tennis background. I like to put nice spin on the ball. I feel it suits my game, it complements my game. I was just very impressed.
Price point it's a hundred dollars. I think that's reasonable. It's a solid paddle. You're not going to break it. You're not gonna chip it. I really bang the ball a lot of the time, and it's held up pretty well. It is solid, I think. It's worth the price point of a hundred dollars. It's not a piece of junk.
It's a weapon. It's an offensive weapon. It's max grit, it's gonna give you great spin. I would recommend it. This is a singles tournament we had just played in. I won the tournament. Now we threw it together but that was good quality 5.0 players there. It is very nice for singles. I get good spin. I'm getting pop on the serve. I can hit that nice forehand. That is power. I definitely recommend this paddle, and I suggest you try.
